This book was recommended to me by a friend and looks like it fits the true story topic. It sounds like there will be recipes peppered throughout the story. After months of not having a kitchen our remodel should be done right about the time I will be reading this book so seems like a great fit!

Samantha | 122 comments This was a much darker read that I had anticipated but as her life progressed it became lighter and the food took more of a focus.

A good portion of the book was on Sasha Martin's experiences growing up. Her childhood was a mix of unorthodox love and fun with her eccentric mother and time spent with a her mothers friends.

The second part of her her book was more of her adult like and the events that lead to her cooking food from every country around the world. As she told her story she would pepper in recipes that helped set the tone.

I haven't read many memoirs so think I want to have things wrapped up more neatly. The hardest part was not getting the perspective of her guardians.

Even with the feeling that something was left unfinished, I thought it was a good read and Sasha's life was filled with adventure.
