I don't know about the other guys on here, but i kinda miss getting a monthly newsletter in my GR messages inbox, like with most other groups I'm a member of. Perhaps it's annoying to some, but I know it's the start of each month by all those newsletters landing in my messages :-).Plus, I'm curious to see what kind of pics would our mod put in the newsletter :-), what with our group topic, possibilities are just endless.
Every group I'm in automatically broadcast a newsletter to all members. Except this one.
I don't understand having to 'Sign Up' to get it.

True. And they can be very creative too :-). I get all kinds of newsletters, from just meh, to interesting ones. It tells a lot about the group.
Not to mention it's a priceless opportunity to attract members back to the group. Announce buddy reads and books of the month. Welcome new members. Highlight some topics that you consider important but are possibly overlooked by members... the list goes on.
Kind of off-topic, do you know how many buddy reads/BOTMs usually a typical group has per month?

Each group is VERY different.
My Dark Erotica group used to do 1 BOTM & 3 Buddy reads
Buddy Read specials come from those when the group really liked a series that started as a BOTM or BR.
Once the series is done or the group loses interest we archive them.
Turning Pages at Midnight has a completely different setup.
They don't do BOTM's but have a large selection of various genres every month. Some are date specific and some are 'All Month'
Usually the 'All Month' are continuations of a BR that was enjoyed from the month before.
Gotta Have Romance with a Kick does a 'Themed' nomination every month for members to nominate books for the next month. These are actually called 'Group Reads' by them but they are still buddy reads. If members specifically enjoy one that they want to continue, the group will add that to the next month as a buddy read.
Some groups don't do buddy reads or BOTM's
Others do some type of challenge. Which can be monthly or yearly or both.
Those are all things I plan to have in my newsletter Eleven. It will be a place to inform & connect & an opportunity to reach different readers on different platforms too. To have options for real time reading sprints & for me to provide resources & do more with having fun pics & videos.
I have looked at a few groups & the average is 1-3 buddy reads per month + extra challenges. @eleven
@deb I understand having a monthly readers digest accessible on Good reads is helpful & common with a lot of groups on good reads. I've spoken before about difficulties creating one on Goodreads. I understand signing up for a newsletter externally might not make sense. Personally, I haven't seen a way to do it & include the things I'd like to as well. It is the design & release part I am having the most trouble with on Goodreads & I'd also like to build this community out to open entry points to all kinds of MC/Readers & create those spaces through a newsletter.

Thanks for the recap, appreciate it. I never really thought about it before, and then I got curios and realized I have no idea :-).
You are most welcome Eleven. I started the group knowing that I' need to balance it with my career & time available. I also wanted it to be an opportunity to start connecting with different kinds of readers & I've asked readers offline & writers how they'd enjoy reading in their niche & connecting & most said Goodreads would be part of a hub of connectivity for them. A branch. So I want to listen to other Dark Romance/Romance suspense readers & Authors industry & community & provide those opportunities with the time, resources & creativity that I have & not just be limited to Goodreads even though the branch is Goodreads. It's also creating a space I'd want to see & be in too ♡ I as a reader want to real time buddy read, sprint & find other diverse ways to engage diverse generations & types of MC/Biker readers & niches.

Wish more people would adhere to that one...
Yes ♡ Create a space that is something missing on Goodreads, which is an MC/Biker specific space & opportunities to find those connections & friendships that can also expand from Goodreads & other groups.

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has joined to be part of this growing group of MC/Biker Romance readers.
It was a dream for years for me to start my own group to connect readers from across the world to unite in our love of MC's and Mayhem. Seeing each new member coming into the group makes my day & I am deeply grateful for all the comments, discussion posts and ideas for how to expand, and deepen the group connections.
With all the amazing Buddy reads, challenges, and information shared, I decided it was time to start a monthly newsletter for this group. A place that brings everything you need to know in one monthly digest to prepare for the reading month ahead & to contribute to the evolution of this group.
