Please nominate up to two works you think would make a good group read in weird fiction for us to read in August, 2024.

I nominate Flashing Swords #8 edited by our favorite editor Robert M Price. Yeah, it's sword and sorcer-ish, but that's long been part of weird fiction. Here are its contents, if you're curious:
5 • Introduction: The Past Returns with a Vengeance • essay by Robert M. Price
7 • A Witch-King Is Born • novelette by Michael A. Turton
49 • The Love of the Sea • [Tara of the Twilight] • (1984) • short story by Lin Carter
54 • Thongar on Callisto • [Thongor] • short story by Robert M. Price
67 • Manticora • short story by Glynn Owen Barrass
82 • Dark Continent • short story by Wayne Judge
101 • The Garden of Xylom Phom • short story by Glen M. Usher
113 • The Tomb of the Titan • short story by Robert M. Price
126 • Black Snow • short story by Pierre V. Comtois
155 • The Demon's Lover • short story by Wayne Judge
168 • The City Without Name • short story by Glen M. Usher
176 • Gladiator Days • short story by Clayton Hinkle
I will nominate Weird Horror #4. A tantalazingly simple title for a relatively new magazine which I'm very eager to read. I currently have this issue permanently adorning my living room with that super cool cover art (to be fair, all of their issues have excellent cover art!).
That looks like a really cool series and they're only four years old. I've only heard of one or two of the authors before. Have you read any of the other issues?
No, I haven't. I wanted to give them a try and eventually decided on that issue. It just seemed like one of the better ones.
I will also nominate Embassytown by China Miéville. By the looks of things, I have good reason to be optimistic that I'll enjoy this one much more than Kraken!
Nicolai Alexander wrote: "I will also nominate Embassytown by China Miéville. We have already read two of his novels in this group, the latest one just a few months ago. There is so much other good weird fiction being written that deserves a chance to be spotlighted. I am therefore going to substitute another nomination from you from a past nomination for this next poll. I hope that's okay.
