How do we set up a book shelf and link?

How do we set up the link

My bookshelf is https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

I'm definitely going to need help since even with reading the instructions and FAQ I'm lost!

message 14: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) Welcome all!

Looks like our power is Thunderbolt and from what I can gather to spell out we can use:

-- Title
-- Author first or last name
-- Characters first or last name
-- Series
-- Narrator first or last name

Example:
L-Nameless by Lili St. Crow (Author L)
I-I'm with You by Glenna Maynard (Title I)
G-Wild Wolf by Jennifer Ashley (Character Graham G)

Points
-- Books with 125 pages or (150 pages for children books) are worth 20 points
-- Books with 250+ pages are worth 25 points
-- If you read a book that your Pantheon is the major theme it is work 50 points
-- Each time you spell out your power you get 100 points.

So we would each need to spellout thunderbolt a bunch of times to get to 20000 points since you only get 20 or 25 points for each book that fits the work and 100 points each time we complete it?

Pantheon the major theme does that mean set in Rome?

Someone asked in another thread and I think to get those points the Roman Gods must play a major part in the book.

Thanks then I probably won't get the extra points for us since I don't read those type books.

message 19: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ I knew there was a reason I kept putting off The Son of Neptune (The Heroes of Olympus, #2) by Rick Riordan and The Mark of Athena (The Heroes of Olympus, #3) by Rick Riordan . Been a while since I read The Lost Hero (The Heroes of Olympus, #1) by Rick Riordan so may have to do a re-read.

I'll plan for these in May so we'll get Roman points :)

Haha I'm probably in the wrong one too! My obsession has always been with Greek mythology.

I have a book coming up that has a God that calls himself Apollo. Not sure if he is THE Apollo from this list though. Wonder if it would work. Curse the Dawn (Cassandra Palmer, #4) by Karen Chance

Should have all the links for the shelves up so far

message 28: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ Sounds like from Faq and book verification threads. We are not held to just read Roman gods for extra points. We can read a book with Greek, Norse Egyptian etc Gods in it.

That will make it easier to find God books. I need to get back to the Dark Hunter series and pretty sure there are Gods in those ....plus I can finally get caught up with the Rick Riordan series I've been putting off - Roman and Egyptian gods in them......

message 29: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) That definitely makes things a little easier. I'll have books I can read now

Sounds like this book should work then and I'll be reading it next month - so perfect timing.

message 32: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 355 comments Yay! This makes me so much more excited. I was looking for books to read with Roman gods, and all I kept finding was books with Greek gods I wanted to read instead lol

message 33: by ✿~Danielle~✿ (last edited Apr 11, 2015 10:10AM) (new)

✿~Danielle~✿ (dmh1) Do you like planing ahead the books your going to read or do you pick books up your in the mood for?

I'm more of a mood reader, but I do some planning too. I have started a spreadsheet for some books I know I'll be reading in May and where they fit for the letters.

message 34: by Penni (new)

Penni | 1292 comments Mod
I plan - always have more on my list than I can read - use mood and challenges to hone which things actually get read for the month.

message 35: by Ghost in the Stacks (last edited Apr 11, 2015 11:00AM) (new)

Ghost in the Stacks I am a mood reader, but I will try to fit in a God/Goddess book as much as I can.
Now that there is a broader range, that gives me more options!

message 36: by Laila Jane (new)

Laila Jane (axlilxlala) | 355 comments I think I'm a little of both. I plan weekly what books I'm going to read - usually 1 book to fulfill a team challenge and 1 book to fit my mood.

message 37: by JoAnne (new)

JoAnne (joannemwct) | 1347 comments I'm both too but I also review books for two sites and have deadlines to meet so I love when they fit into a challenge as well.

JoAnne (joannemwct) | 1347 comments Do we have a captain yet? Won't be me.

That's why I said I would because in your sign up post you didn't seem to want to, but would if needed. I got no problem doing it.
