Writing this to start a conversation with everyone. I want to say I love reading historical fiction. I have found that I read more in the winter months, and once the sun is shining I would much rather be outside. My go to historical fiction: Winter: Tasha Alexander--love intrigue, murder, and romance. I love the amount of strength she has given Lady Emily. Kate Quinn - Amazing history and story line--cannot get enough once I am in it. Her books are spellbinding. Incredible research goes into the stories--I am forever grateful that she is an author. There are many others...but more discussions :)
Spring: Alyssa Maxwell: Newport history, mystery and a great story line with colorful characters-always waiting with bated breath for the next release (I think I am addicted to the architecture and romance). Dianne Freeman: The Countess of Harleigh Mysteries; wonderful and adventuresome characters that make you want to join in with their adventures. Fall: Fiona Davis: Dual story lines with amazing characters and plot lines. She pulls me in fast and I usually don't sleep until I am done with the book (then regret reading it so quickly).
All Seasons: Susan Elia MacNeal: The Maggie Hope Series is undoubltly one of my favorites. Jacqueline Winspear: Takes my breath away with Maisie Dobbs; the level of intelligence and attention to human behavior is incredible. What are you reading? What grabs you and sucks you in?
