I enjoyed Cassandra in Reverse a lot more than I thought I would. Four stars and recommended. But I have too much disbelief in the 'reveal' - how could (view spoiler)?I love her thought when she realizes that the max she can go back is four months. "Baby time wheels...."
And the list of things to do on a date is terrific, though some of them are probably special to Cambridge: "Picnic in the Botanic Gardens. Bike riding. Punting. Treasure hunt. Pub. Look at colleges. Eat fudge."
I will investigate more by the author.
Second try on Just One Damned Thing After Another. Got to p. 154 this time and met 'the villain.' The world-building was ok, if tropey, but to know that there is an evil plot and to know that it leads to necessary sequels, well, sorry, nope.

I did just finish and enjoy Arcane America Book 2 Council of Fire. Quite a decent not to heavy story and I would recommend reading this before Book 1 as the events here set up the entire series and Book 1 is set much later. Even more confusingly Book 3 is a prequel to Book 2.
I'm listening to Cassandra in Reverse now and enjoying it a lot. I've read a few books written by autistic narrators and I truly enjoy their frankness and the comedy that comes out of their misinterpreting situations. It would be a hard life to live, but I relate a lot to some of Cassandra's quirks.
One thing that I hadn't ever considered before, is when someone time travels, and they potentially are jumping between timelines, does the person that exists there after the traveler leaves have to clean up the mess made by the traveler? Interesting. Might make a cool movie.

Samantha that is an interesting point. Especially since all of the little time jumps Cassandra made throughout the book when things didn't go as she thought they should. I was wondering if there would be echos of those changes in the people closest to her.

Lizz recommends we all consider Cassandra in Reverse or Jodi Taylor's historical series starting with Just One Damned Thing After Another.
Both are available at my library so I'll be giving them a look-see.
