The END:
How did you feel about the ending?

Since it may give away spoilers, I will put my thoughts in spoiler box :)

(view spoiler)[ I feel really sorry for Heath by the end. His death was such a misery- hated and alone! Having gone through his story, I feel he bought it all on himself. For his actions regarding every single person after he came back, were insane! Even towards Cathy. He didn't wanna win her, he wanted to own her. Wanted to get back to her for her betrayal but at the same time could not see her suffering albeit it was him who was causing it. But now she was dead. The only person who loved him (er, should I say didn't hate him like everyone else hated him) was dead. The end couldn't have been any different. But what I loved about the end was that his servant still went to the ceremony because he could see how he ached for Cathy. He could see beneath that dark outer surface that miserable, hurting heart that was Heath. I think I feel so sorry for Heath and I sympathize with him so much that I took solace in the fact that there at least was one person who was there with him in the end. Who could tell people about his death so that he doesn't just vanishes from the frame given that no one really cared for him. (hide spoiler)]

I didn't really feel sorry for Heathcliff: I pitied him, in that he destroyed any hope of happiness for himself, but I certainly couldn't feel sorry for him. He ruined those around him and was the most hateful human being imaginable.
