Started off interesting :) though the time travel part is not really explained, but probably for the better lol
i really am enjoying it so far! I love how the main characters interactions have been going lol. it's a super interesting dynamic
Lol...no worries, Courtney. I'm a bit over half way now as I'm listening to it on audio. I must say I quite enjoyed the beginning, the set up, the characters' interaction, but I'm feeling a bit bored with the mundane at the moment hahaha.
Is it that good? I hope!! I want to read the colors of the dark or something… so let’s put that on our list too
Well, it was an audiobook, so went by faster lol. I will reserve my thoughts for now hahaha. Oh, I want to read that one...I was planning on ordering it this week as I loved his other book, We begin at the end.
Do you guys also want to read All the colours of the dark? So that I know to hold off from reading it lol.
i finished this one yesterday or the day before! i enjoyed it but it definitely gave me like a weird existential feeling lol. i really loved the characters, but some events at the end made me feel weird. it definitely felt like a rushed ending honestly
I think it was trying to do too many things lol. But yeah, I get what you mean with the weird existential feeling...
i think so too! I can't say the existential dread was a bad thing, I like when books make me think. I also like that the author based Gore on a real person!
True, there are definitely quite a bit of discussion to be had about the morality of the whole thing.
But there was a lot happening. I do think it was trying to do too many things and therefore fell a bit flat for me. If it would have been more focused, it would have probably landed better.
haha :) yeah, I was able to get All the Colors of the Dark! so we can start that one if you guys want :)
also, Corina, I've been listening to the book you recommended, Legendborn, and I'm really enjoying it! i had to return it back to the library though but I'll be finishing it when I get it back :)
I have All the colours on my shelves so can start anytime too. Courtney?Oh, glad to hear it, Bella. To me thats an example of good YA. Book 2 is great too.
Yes always ready to start a new book 📕 I can get all the colors tomorrow if that’s okay with you guys
Also, can I just ask: did you guys buy into the romance in this book? I knew it was coming, but I just felt it went from a platonic friendship into a full blown romance without the proper romance build up if you know what I mean. I guess like everything else this book was trying to buy and it didn't fully accomplish it.
i agree Corina! I did see it coming, especially from her end! but it was super sudden. I wish the author developed it s but more. i was super surprised to find out they end up together and with a kid in the future. it definitely just felt super rushed
and then did he die??? i was so confused! she acted so nonchalantly about it too!! what happens to his future self?
Exactly, Bella, I agree. I mean that future may never happen as they changed the present. When did he die lol? Did I miss it? I thought he ran away with that woman who was also from the past. Margaret was it? And then they kind of send her that photo for her to potentially find them.
I didn’t give this book my full attention which I think I’m gonna put as a re read sometime in the future but did you guys want to start this new one soon
I listened to it on audio so there is always a chance you miss things lol. I can start anytime, today, tomorrow? whatever works :)
