I actually have this one. I haven't been doing the reads with you for a few months, but I plan to join this one.
I like this cozy story. Not my favourite of the series, but still charming.
[I am not going to re-read it now.]

This will be my fourth. I bought the first from a bookshop, but the others have been secondhand purchases. I didn't like the second, Wild Strawberries, but enjoyed the sixth Pomfret Towers. Am looking forward to reading this, fingers crossed for an enjoyable time.
Started this and couldn't visualise the railway track/platform set-up in the first chapter. Made the mistake of asking my husband, who was a train mad child, for an explanation!

Finished it. An enjoyable, easy read. For me the book was helped by the children and the donkey who added humour to the story. I think that Richard crops up in a later book, but as he was my least favourite character I may avoid that one.

Yes. I love "Thirkell's children" too. By the way, I have still The Demon in the House (amongst a dozen of the latest) to catch up.

Who is going to read it? How do you like it?
If you have read it already, or you are reading it at another (later) time - write here what you think about the book too.
