I'd like to nominate The Magic Mountain by Thomas MannThe connection is in the title and the setting, a sanatorium in the Swiss Alps.
I'm so glad I waited with nominating anything this month, because all three books that I couldn't choose between, have been mentioned already 😀 Now I just need to figure out what I'll be seconding. Still thinking about it.
I’d like to nominate Storming Heaven , a novel concerning the events leading up to The Battle of Blair Mountain in West Virginia, an important part of U.S. history that too many people outside the Mountain State know no nothing about.
I've read nearly all the above suggestions, so I'll nominate this one from my TBR with mountain in the title and a rural mountain setting.In Gods of Howl Mountain, award-winning author Taylor Brown explores a world of folk healers, whiskey-runners, and dark family secrets in the high country of 1950s North Carolina.

Uprooted - Naomi NovickSetting is a village in a mountain valley and edged by a forest.
I am recommending Sense and Sensibility The connection is that it's been sitting at the base of my huge TBR mountain for years (and I suspect other people's as well) and I am ready to finally brush it off and tackle it :)

I'll throw in Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. The connection being Howl's castle traveling through the mountains as we follow along with Sophie and her journey.

I'd like to nominate The Secret Wisdom of the Earth by Christopher ScottonIt's a story about a boy visiting his grandfather in the Appalachian mountains.
The Tiger's Wife The connection is that the small town Natalia's grandfather grew up in and where 1/3 of the story takes place in is in the mountains
