Valerie (veegood) | 248 comments I'm looking for books where houses/castles/buildings have names (like Tara in Gone With the Wind, Hogwarts in Harry Potter, etc). Age and genre are not important, I'd like a wide range of books to choose from. Thanks!

Denis DeLong | 211 comments Norah Lofts wrote a number of books, often trilogies, about houses in her district which interested her; most of them carried names.

Marsha (queenboadicea) | 98 comments You can try Deephaven. It’s the beginning of a series and it’s not a favorite book of mine. But it meets your criteria so I’m adding it to the list.

Deephaven (Deephaven Mystery, 1) by Ethan M. Aldridge

Denis DeLong | 211 comments One classic is, of course, The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson. The house could well be considered a main character in the book.

Cheryl A | 77 comments Ashenden by Elizabeth Wilhide. The house is the main character thru multiple generations.

Denis DeLong | 211 comments Possibly you might enjoy a look at At Home: A Short History of Private Life by Bill Bryson. Although I don't remember the house having any name except "The Old Rectory", it was a Victorian house where he and his family lived when he was in the UK. He got fascinated with its history, and wrote a room-by-room tour of the place, explaining how each room would have been used when it was built.

Eric Bruce | 235 comments Rose Red by Stephen King and Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier are both about houses . Both are enjoyable reads .

Gabriella DV | 20 comments For classics, I love “The Tenant Of Wildfell Hall” by Anne brontë. Fantastic old romance. In a similar vain is also “Northanger Abby” by Jane Austin.

For contemporary YA fantasy, there is the “Six of Crows” dualogy by Leigh Bardugo. It has lots of fun names such as “The Slat”, “The Ice Court”, and “The Crow Club”

Lisa | 1 comments Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier has an estate, Manderley, that is really a character in itself. The house influences the story and reflects aspects of the characters, in a similar way to Gone With the Wind.
