Who is a hero of history that you admire, and why do you admire them?

Diet Eman- a Christian woman who worked for the Dutch Resistance during WWII, who kept her faith during all of the trials, including prison and loss, during the war.
I don't think I've read about her before, but I second Diet Eman!
(I learned about her in my European history course last year- her story is very incredible!)
I second Diet Eman! I also nominate Corrie Ten Boom, who hid Jews during WW2, was betrayed and caught for it, and then hosted Bible studies in the concentration camp:)
