What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

My son remembers a book that was read to him around 2012 in first grade or so. It is a multi-series graphic novel with talking animals whose main character may be a badger-mouse. Humans have turned themselves small to lower their environmental impact. Characters go to an island in the sky that is guarded by laughing gas. He also thinks it may have had a gruff porcupine.

Sounds like the Travels of Thelonious series by Susan Schade and Jon Buller. The first book is The Fog Mound.
