Anita (anitanodiva) | 95 comments I got purged yesterday and have reviewed all the posts related to how to get unpurged. Below is my first draft of a letter or e-mail to send to them. I would appreciate any feedback.

Good afternoon,

I am writing to request a review and reinstatement of my Amazon product reviews. I have been an honest and authentic book reviewer since 2014 and was invited to become a Vine Voice in 2020. I have always offered quality personal reviews of both books and products.

Something unknown occurred on July 10, 2024 to cause 15 reviews submitted to be rejected with a warning that their content violated community guidelines or terms of service. After carefully reviewing the posted guidelines and terms I do not agree that any of my reviews are in violation of these standards.

My reviews are well written, personally crafted, and reflect my use and experience with each product. I try each time to relay relevant information and opinions that would connect with the Amazon audience with a personal tone to build trust with your customers.

As a mother of three grown children and care-provider for my wonderful grandchildren, I have an active family life to draw from to offer a down-to-earth perspective I feel many readers can connect with. I have experience ranging from child rearing, to teaching, time in the corporate world, as well as a whole array of sports and recreational hobbies. My interests are diverse, and my reviews show a focus on honesty and practicality. As a voice on your platform I offer a positive and trustworthy perspective.

I believe the closure of my account is in error and I request to be reinstated.

Thank you,

Anita Fleming

DD:
I started with this attitude as well.

What you want to go with is EXTREME CONTRITION.

I'm so sorry... I'll never do it again... Really really sorry...

It took me at least a week to get there. May you be faster.

OutlawPoet:
Worked when I was purged.

I didn't apologize. I didn't grovel. I said, hey you made a mistake and here's how I review.

I know they made a mistake because I didn't do a thing to warrant it.

I simply told them that I seemed to have been caught up in their system for finding reviewers who were breaking rules and then I explained what and how I review. It was a short paragraph. They reinstated me in less than 10 minutes.

Mateo:
Amazon doesn't give a damn about your perception of your reviewing acumen or do they give a **** about your family life and grandkids. In fact, they really don't give a **** about whether you even submit a review beyond minimal requirements to remain active in the vine program when one is a vine reviewer. You may not see anything in violation of reviewing guidelines but that is irrelevant

Mary:
I would keep it very simple. You don't review anything outside the system and only thing you purchase on Amazon or Vine. I would just pare down how you review and emphasize your reviews are written by you with no help from others. Never accepted compensation for reviews.

Like OutLawPoet and Barbara recommended, write to jeff@amazon.com first.

I would include the staff in the first paragraph, like, Mr. Bezos, I’m writing to you, and your staff ...

Keep it brief and concise.

I suggest asking for a reassessment of the situation. And if it’s possible the restoration of reviewing privileges.

It's very important not to mention your Vine membership until your reviewing privileges are restored.

If you don't get a positive outcome initially, keep sending emails every other week to each of the addresses that you listed.

Don't give up.

We have cases of members who were reinstated after six months of complete Amazon account and bought content deleted.

If you dig into this forum you will find their experiences.

I created a topic about the possible reasons why we were being purged.

And many contributed with their experiences and opinions.

Most of the information in it is still useful.

Today, 3/15/2021, I noticed that all my reviews have disappeared and I can no longer post reviews. I have been an Amazon member for 18 years, since 2002, and a member of Vine since August of 2020. I take pride in writing informative reviews and have tried my best to follow all review guidelines.

I know that Amazon periodically runs a program that is intended to identify reviews and reviewers who are in violation of Amazon’s rules against incentivized reviews. The only thing I can think that might have triggered my reviews to be removed and subsequent suspension of my reviewing privileges is that I buy everything via an Amazon.com gift card. I believe that because I buy everything by gift card that perhaps an algorithm has suspended my account because it erroneously thought my reviews were incentivized. I want to be clear that I have NEVER written an incentivized review.

Every year I purchase 1 large gift card in the amount of $1500 from a rewards credit card. I then apply this gift card in the amount of $1500 to my account and make purchases throughout the year with this. This $1500 gift card purchase can be verified in my purchase history on November 27 2020.

If our purchases using gift cards is not the issue, I would like to know what I did that resulted in the suspension and will immediately correct whatever it is that I did that resulted in the removal of my reviews. I try my hardest to adhere to the community guidelines when submitting reviews.

I ask kindly if someone could help me look into this matter. I rely on reviews myself and enjoy sharing my honest opinions on items purchased from Amazon.

I have been an Amazon customer since 1997, a Prime member since 2010, and a Vine member since 2019. I shop extensively for my household, plus my husband’s dad and my mom.

About a week ago on Sunday, June 20, I was very sad to find that my Amazon reviewing privileges were removed. I believe this happened in error.

I love writing helpful reviews and have never knowingly violated any community reviewing guideline. I only review items I receive through Vine or as direct purchases made by myself.

Would you please look into this matter and restore my reviewing privileges? Thank you for any and all help with this matter.

Good afternoon,

On July 10, 2024, several submitted reviews were rejected with a warning that their content violated community guidelines or terms of service. I have never knowingly violated any of Amazon's community reviewing guidelines. Shortly after, all my reviews were removed from Amazon and I was barred from submitting any further reviews, even for products I had recently purchased. I review items I directly purchase from Amazon, receive through the Vine program or books received via NetGalley which are clearly acknowledged in my review. I have never received any compensation for any of my reviews.

Would you please look into this matter and restore my reviewing privileges? Thank you for any and all help with this matter.

Thank you,

Anita (anitanodiva) | 95 comments My first e-mail right on 7/11 after the purge happened was to Customer Services asking what I did. I finally got a reply:

Yep, I stepped in it. My well-crafted Mea Culpa has yet to get a response. I'm going to wait for that before I do anything else.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 95 comments Dear Mandy,

Bless your heart, honey. I sincerely hope that when you've spent seven decades on this earth you will meet a customer service representative as diligent as you. Then you will know exactly how it feels.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 95 comments Patio 5/25

Kick Back Heaven

I'm a gal who likes to lounge on the patio with my feet up, a pillow under my head and a good book. This set more than met my expectations. The 6-inch cushions are so comfy, the frames are powder coated aluminum and are not scorching hot to the touch in the California sun. Hubby had no trouble at all with assembly. Love the medium blue color of the cushions and the medium gray color of the frames. I expect many long sunny afternoons with this beautiful set.
