Read book around 2016. When the story starts there is a group of kids who go in a forbidden area and get in trouble. They also have eye contacts that let them see information and such. The protagonist ends up leaving the community (dome shaped) to go to the outside because he got in trouble (got kicked out I think). He then has to learn how to live in the outside world, which is barren of resources etc.

The only story with a dome that I can think of is Devil on my Back by Monica Hughes https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... No night or sky in title, but you did say you could have been mistaken on that
Under the Never Sky? The protagonist from the dome area is a girl, but the male main character lives outside the dome and she meets him when she leaves, & I vaguely remember her sneaking into a forbidden area. Or maybe Breathe? It doesn't have Sky in the title but also is about the characters leaving a dome community
