What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I believe the MC is a boy who is taken to a shelter by his parents and he is put into cryo sleep or some sort of sedated state. He wakes up years in the future and eventually meets other teens like him. A couple other boys and girls. They all have specific things they are good at i.e. bow and arrow. One of the boys is a younger/ smaller black boy that is like the “heart” of the group who ends up dying I believe from an arrow. I can’t remember if the “bad guys” are human or maybe goblins.
