Hello everyone! So I got permission to create this thread but I know a lot of people are curious to see what others think of books, what you rated the book, and review. Well with that being said, this is a thread for EVERYONE to post in. You can post your reviews, and thoughts so others can see! If you’re iffy about a book you can ask here and I am sure someone has read it! Have fun and please be respectful of others reviews and star ratings.

True Colors
My review is right here!!! If this book is on your list... HIGHLY recommend you read this. I got tear eyed and cried during this one. so so so so so good! Gave this book 5 stars!

I absolutely LOVED this book. I will say I cried multiple times throughout this book because the overall story had a really deep meaning of what it truly means to be a family.

The Grey Sisters (Aurora, Vivi Ann, and Winona) have lost their mother when the girls where younger. All three of the sisters had stood by their moms bedside and pretty much watched her die and spent every waking moment they could. After the death of their mom, their dad had just became more and more salty as he went up in age. Winona being the oldest of the sisters, really pushed the family when she tried numerous times to make sure the family had what they needed on this horse ranch. All three girls grew up on this ranch and will do anything to save this farm but Winona had to take it in her hands to figure out what they can do so the ranch doesn't get taken from them. Winona is also the smartest between the sisters and as soon has she mentions her plan to their dad he throws a fit and doesn't like that, but at the end of the day they have to have some back up money so they can make sure the mortgage gets paid. Winona is also a small town attorney who doesn't quite have as many values as her dad and her dad is very judgmental and thinks she will never be able to have those traits but Winona is determined once she graduates and moves back that she will prove her dad wrong.

Aurora the the middle daughter, she is more the family's peacemaker when things get chaotic. She has broken every damn rule and that's okay with her because her family means more to her than anything. Aurora had been there through thick and thin with each on of her sisters going through a hard time. As you read the book you will understand what I am talking about. Well Aurora ends up getting a divorce from her husband as well and she had lost interest. She is the crazy one out of the sisters but she is the second smartest sister and tries to make sure the peace and drama in the family stays to a minimum.

Vivi Ann is the youngest sister and the absolute dumbest of them all. She is a barrel racer at young age and her horse Clementine as became her best friend over the years. She is absolutely gorgeous and falls in love super easy as well as the cowboys are always swooning over her. She makes the stupid mistakes in the book and she realizes that her sisters are only trying to help her and not make things worse.

So with this being said, Winona was in charge of hiring ranch hands for the farm and she thought she found a good one when Dallas Raintree had knocked on the door applying for the ranch hand position. Winona had made a huge mistake a hired him on contract without consulting their father who is absolutely racist and judgemental like I have said. Henry Grey doesn't look at the aspect of the farm getting help but their dad is getting tired of putting horse shoes on the horses and never gets a break. When his oldest daughter comes to help he does nothing but complain. Vivi on the other hand was suppose to be getting married to Luke Connelly when she saw Dallas on his first day and pretty much fell in love at first sight.

Vivi was told that she was suppose to stay away from him but she sneaked out during the nights and spent the night in the cottage with Dallas. Once Dallas and Vivi had became more serious and he started becoming part of the family, NO ONE liked him. Winona being the smartest out of the family and had access to a crap ton of things, she went to the police station and had did a criminal background check on Dallas Raintree and from their said it all. (Read the book to find out the convictions on his record)! Winona was always jealous of her sister Vivi because she found things so easy in life and never seemed to get her ass bit in the long run. Winona had tried to warn Aurora and Vivi as well that he wasn't a great person and was very sketchy. She had eventually told them about his record and Vivi completely ignored it and still ended up marrying this man in a different county and came back and told the whole family the news... But the announcement they gave at Christmas one year devasted the whole family. Vivi played with fire multiple times and didn't think this was real until she found out she was pregnant with Dallas's child.

Henry had threw an fit once he found out she was pregnant and went off the deep end and blew his daughter off. He had helped around the ranch and helped her gain all these rescue horses but no one really saw that her love for Dallas was strong. It was all fun and games till a year passed and Sheriff Albert knocked on the door and told the whole family that the police station was questioning Dallas as a suspect because Catherine Morgan was murdered. Several of the town's people had saw Dallas with Catherine and on his trial date it wasn't looking good for him and Winona had been waiting for the day he was found guilty. So Vivi deals with this all by herself and can't understand the meaning of hope anymore since she was waiting for Roy (Dallas's lawyer) to hopefully change the state minds about Dallas. He was not getting out anytime soon and for years Vivi had gone every Saturday to see her husband in prison and did everything she can to help get him out but every retainer fee was about $25,000.

Vivi had hoped and hoped day after day that Roy would give her news at the meeting but it was bad news and Noah had to deal with his whole life without a fatherlike figure. Vivi knew that the conversations she would be having once her son was older was not going to end well. Noah had been bullied in school and had the temper of his dad. Tried to get him some help but never worked and about failed school until he was given one more chance to prove to his principal that he would change. Well Noah had fell in love just like Vivi and Winona when she had made her relationship with Mark official. Noah knows that his dad was not the real killer from the very beginning and does ask Winona to get one last DNA test to official prove that he is the killer or not. The sample from the crime scene is still there and there is still hope. Winona was wrong once again and once she had read the transcript really well and got her shit together she did what was asked of Noah and tried her best to explain to Dallas as well there is still hope. Vivi had lost all hope when she signed the divorce papers in the mail. All her life she told herself she was done with men. But towards the end of the book Winona had gotten Dallas to agree to another DNA test and was shocked to find the results of hope still there. Myrtle Michaelian had been the witness that had gotten Dallas hoked for life in prison with no chance of parole. But the killer had a tattoo on the right side of the arm Dallas did not. The sample that was collected from the crime scene wasn't fully ready to be claimed yet. Who's blood is really on there? Will Dallas be found innocent at the second trial?

Alexandra⋅˚₊‧ ❀ ‧₊˚ ⋅ The Midnight Library The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book made me cry multiple times and is NOT made for the weak. The parallel universe stuff was absolutely perfect and when she killed herself was heart wrenching. With each meaningful and beautifully written line it felt like another knife twist in my heart and the ending made me feel AMAZING. Nora Seed is a character that absolutely REPRESENTS depression and she is the most non 2D character I’ve ever seen. Underrated.

Hi Sofia :o)

I've read your review and it made me want to read that book.. 600 pages in 2 days?? It must be either an amazing book, or you are an amazing reader, or both lol
Please allow me to recommend to you Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte; an English classics about the " unbearable love".

Happy reading!

The Island by Natasha Preston

If you don't handle death, violence, graphic detail or have a weak stomach... this book IS NOT FOR YOU! Look up trigger warnings before you read this.

Hi everyone!
I’m Robert Ginger, an indie romance author. My newest book is a slow-burn, emotional love story about healing, second chances, and the kind of romance that lingers long after the last page.

If anyone here enjoys discovering new indie voices and would like to read/review it, I’d be happy to share a PDF copy privately. Just let me know and I’ll send it over! 💌

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and chatting books with you all.

Happy Friday! I have a quick question for y'all. Has anyone given Problematic Summer Romance a read? I'm a huge Ali Hazelwood fan (I've read 10 others by her) and I'm struggling to get through this as an audiobook. Anyone read it on kindle/paper? I might jettison the audio for paper/hard cover, just to not be subjected to the narrators, but if the book itself is "problematic," I'm okay to grit through this book. Thanks in advance for your insights.

I know Lilly has read that. I have not read it and she told me when I asked if I would like it she said I wouldn't. I would message her because I am positive she has read that.

ooooh yes i have read that!! i didnt listen to the audiobook but its not worth it the characters are super annoying

Ever judge a book by its cover? It's a tricky tightrope when we look for our next romance book, right? Like a cover is sometimes so cheesy or so cartoony, we just have to walk away from the book despite the back cover blurb. Even though you're probably not getting a smutty/spicy book, it's like a walk of shame to take the book with the oiled-up Mr. Universe chesty pirate and bosomy damsel to the cashier.

Anyway, check out the book cover to Writing Mr. Wrong. Seriously, I'm so thankful for audiobooks from the library. This one screamed "weak storyline, characters too cheesy." Boy, was I surprised!

The author Kelley Armstrong is prolific and I'm familiar with her style. I've read 3 of her 'A Rip Through Time' series and 2008's The Summoning, book 1 of her YA 'The Darkest Powers' series.

This one, released 6/24/2025, surprised me with the depth of character and engaging story arc. Here's to being surprised. I gave it 5-stars.
