Lava Climbing Wall
Mikaela recognized Sullivan. “I’ve heard about that, but I always thought that it wasn’t true.” She responded, her Scandinavian accent a bit less than the day before.
“Hello again Sullivan.” She added, giving her a slight smile. “Long time no see.”

Mikaela nodded. “A bit under. 24 hours isn’t much though.” They replied. They tucked their hair behind their ear. They found some spilled chalk powder on the ground, and picked up some, applying it to their hands.
Mikaela grinned. “Sure. But you’re going to lose.” She said, as if giving her a warning. “I hope you know that. Are we doing any stakes or is it victory for the sake of victory?”
She rolled up her long sleeves and walked closer to the wall, making sure her harness was secure.

Mikaela placed her foot on the wall after Sullivan said “go”. She began to climb at a decently fast pace, looking like an amateur rock climber who was trying to be professional. Every once in a while she’d be able to launch herself up, using momentum and she’d use that to waste less energy. Her and Sullivan were neck and neck.
Mikaela increased her climbing speed, seeming more professional and confident.
She looked at Sullivan out of her peripheral line of vision, seeing her right next to her.
However, as Mikaela continued, she surpassed her, Sullivan falling out of view.
At this time she was at the halfway point, and barely tired. She grinned to herself as she climbed, knowing that her long time at camp finally paid off.

Mikaela heard Sullivan and saw her drop in her peripheral vision. However, she knew if she looked she’d be past, since she knew Sullivan didn’t really fall. If she’d fallen there’d be sounds of commotion and there wasn’t any.
She continued to climb, only glancing at Sullivan for a quarter of a second.

Mikaela increased in pace despite aching from exertion. She bounded up the wall, but slipped about ten handholds away from the top.
She held on to the hand hold, with both hands, her legs dangling. She forgot what she was doing for a second before remembering and getting her feet on the wall, then getting hand to a better handhold.
By this time Sullivan had caught up and in one last burst of energy, Mikaela made it to the top. She was sure she made it there first but there’d only been a two second distance between her and Sullivan.

Mikaela realized it was way closer than she thought. “Good job.” She said, smiling. “We tied right?” She couldn’t really tell when she got onto the platform, but it seemed really close.
Mikaela grabbed the hair the out of her hair that was holding the bun, and instead letting her relatively long hair hang over her shoulders.

Mikaela laughed. “I’ve heard many people say that to me about my rock climbing for the last few years.” They said. “Yours is really good though! Like a hundred times better than mine. Well, maybe not 100 but a lot.”
“I’ve never climbed a tree before…” Mikaela admitted. “I lived in a place with not a lot of trees so I never got too.” The last part was partially untrue, but she didn’t want for talk about her father and cycling through foster homes and her orphanage at the moment.
Mikaela began to lower herself from the platform, using the wall to push herself off to speed up the lowering process.
Mikaela took off her harness and set it down with the rest of the harnesses. “That dive was impressive though.” She said, walking close to Sullivan.
Mikaela smiled. She grabbed her water bottle and took a small sip before rolling down her sleeves.
“Well, I’ve been doing a bit of research on some things from the mortal world but otherwise no.”
“No half-siblings, no pets, no family. Well, one family member but that persons dead to me so.” Mikaela shrugged.
“What do you want to do now?” Mikaela asked, seeing her bored expression. They were a chill person when it came to activities, and was content with hanging out, but knew Sullivan wasn’t.
"You know you can call me Mika or Miks, right?" Mikaela said with a soft smile. "And I don't think you can do any of those things here at camp. Can you think of something you can do at camp."
“Pole vaulting? Where do you have a pole? Actually, I really don’t want to know.” Mikaela replied with a laugh. “But that sounds fun. I don’t have to pole vault to right?”
“Fine. I’ll pole vault. If I break every bone in my body remind me to summon Buford.” Mikaela sighed before smiling. “But you’re for sure going first.”
“Buford is basically my undead servant that I trust to take me to the infirmary. Not that I don’t trust you.” Mikaela added the last part quickly. “And I’m letting you go first so I can see how to do it.” Their accent laced their words.
“My friend works there.” Mikaela replied with a smile. “Have you met her? Her name is Pippa.”

They were almost at the top when they slipped, their harness catching them and lowering them.
