Have you read the rest of that series of books? They rock! Jonathan Maberry is one of my favorite authors! I only give 5 stars to books that I really get lost in.

Heck yes!! Love the Joe Ledger series. Read them all.
I'm reading Predator One now, just came out.
Jonathan Maberry rocks and rolls! ;) His Rot & Ruin and Dead of Night series was excellent too.

The Pine Deep trilogy is also great ;) Just got Predator One but my review list is hovering around 25 books so it may be a little while before I get to read my 'Just For Fun' books.

So glad you like it! :D
I agree Ashley, that's why I wanted a topic on books that you think it's by far one of the best books. We readers, at one time or another, have read books that just left you wishing you never started it in the first place. This topic is for THOSE books that when you finish it you're fulfilled and you can actually say 'now that was a damn good book'. Books you want others to enjoy as much as you did.
I read The Collector when I was a kid and I never forgot it. It was just so well written and interesting! It's still one of my favorites.

John Fowels is the Author...Not that it will gore scare you, but what a mind fudging you will receive for sure! IDK if the movie is from the book, but I doubt it.

I read the reviews and they say it's very sad, KC. I don't like to read sad novels, there's so much in the world that can make you sad already.
I'll throw in a few of my 5 star reads -Boy's Life - Robert McCammon
Swan Song - Robert McCammon
It - Stephen King
Salem's Lot - Stephen King
Pet Sematary - Stephen King
Animosity - James Newman
Burden, Kansas - Alan Ryker
Sour Candy - Kealan Patrick Burke
Jigsaw Man - Gord Rollo
Exorcist Road - Jonathan Janz
Blackout - Tim Curran
The Rain Dancers - Greg Gifune
Blood Sacrifices - Brian Moreland
I have started my own book review blog https://alyscrusinlifeandbooks.wordpr.... I also have a Goodreads group called "What is Life without Books", would love more authors and anyone/friends to join.
I have 5 star reads too and I will add some of them here:The Devil's Woods - Brian Moreland
The Halloween Children - Brian James Freeman
Salvage: A Ghost Story - Duncan Ralston
The House on Judith Street - Monte Plaisance
The Unhallowed - Monte Plaisance
Angel Manor - Chantel Noordeloos
Summer of Night - Dan Simmons
The Folcroft Ghosts - Darcy Coates
The Witching House - Brian Moreland
Dracula - Bram Stoker
That is just a few - I have more five star reads but it would take forever to list here. :)

Patient Zero
this has got to be one of my favorite books. First rate thriller. This is not a zombie apocalypse. And regardless of the horror categorization, this book is not scary. It is a mystery/thriller with lots of action to round things out.
