🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

The book description, while brief, gave a hint of an interesting interstellar adventure. It was quite interesting except for the twist about one of the team members. Without giving too much away, I just thought that it went a bit tangential from 'science fiction' to the realm of 'fantasy' which I did not appreciate in this book context.

Otherwise, I enjoyed the characters (aliens and humans and their developing relationship) and narrator did a fairly good job of keeping me engaged.

You did better than I did. I liked the concept too but just couldn’t manage the book - it was a DNF at about 30% through for me.

It was a bit slow to take off... it was almost halfway when things start to happen

I've got this on my list for this month - also on my Trim List.

I do like fantasy, so hoping I like it better than 2 1/2 stars or DNF!

To me it does. It was originally supposed to be a single book, but, if I remember correctly, some MIT students let Niven know that his Ringworld was unstable. It would crash into the sun. So he wrote a sequel to “save” the ring world.

I do admit it’s slow to get into. It takes some interesting turns.

oh how funny! I think these days, authors would actually check in with some scientists etc if their fantasy world might be actually "sustainable".

I was hoping that this sequel will see them travel elsewhere... I'm not keen to go back to ring world; at least, not right now.
