Seventeen-year-old Anastasia Lockhart has never led an easy life, but when she starts getting into serious trouble, she’s sent to live with her grandparents in Cedar Falls. chapter 1 (view spoiler)[ Her grandfather was really rude to that other man! he may be trying to put them out of business, but public shouting matches don't sound like a good way to resolve anything.

Anastasia is really quite mean when she talks about her mother. does she really hate her that much? and have her grandparents seriously not seen their daughter in 17 years? but they're happy to look after her illegitimate child? that's a bit weird.
