5.6 A Hauntingly Good Time

Fall is the perfect time for a spooky (Or not so spooky) read.
Read a book where a haunting (imagined, faked, or real) or ghosts are essential to the story.
Required: If it's not evident on the Goodreads main page provide a reference

Ghost of a Chance

from GR book description
Every Halloween, the supposedly haunted Bell Hotel hosts its famous 'Ghost-Hunters Dinner', complete with scary stories, spooky apparitions and things that go bump in the night. But this year's event ends in a terrifying accident, and suddenly everyone wonders ... Is there a real ghost loose in the hotel?

Brooke | 1110 comments Doctor Sleep will work, right? The description says the MC is haunted by Overlook inhabitants, but since I haven't read it I don't know if it is actual haunting or if it is just said in the metaphorical way people are haunted by their pasts.

Murder Road

I am not sure if the GR description is enough, but here is the only place I found where it actually calls the haunting a ghost and not just something supernatural. I have just finished the book and want to know if I need to post the online review as well.

"The nitty-gritty: A newlywed couple out of their element try to solve a murder involving an angry ghost in this fast-paced, emotional thriller." - excerpt from online review: https://booksbonesbuffy.com/2024/03/0...

Robin P | 1662 comments In the detective series that starts with A Test of Wills, detective Ian Rutledge has a most unusual sidekick. He regularly hears the voice and senses the presence of a dead soldier and gets ideas from it.

from GR description of 2nd book in the series
. Guided by the voice of Hamish, the Scot he unwillingly executed on the battlefield, Rutledge is driven to uncover the haunting truths of murder and madness rooted in a family crypt

Does this work?
