(I can't get Goodreads to link the topic to Maggie Prince, but I can get it to link to her best-known book... if anyone has the ability to change this, please do, and thank you!)
Maggie Prince grew up in the north-west of England. She studied in Leeds and in London, and for several years she ran a book service for housebound people in London. She then went to Africa, where she spent some time doing information work in race relations. She has had a number of stories, poems and articles published in magazines ranging from Mother to Spare Rib, but has only recently taken up writing full time. Her first novel for children, published last year, was Dragon in the Drainpipe(Dragon in Drain Pipe Prince). Maggie Prince lives in Somerset with her husband and two children.

Here Comes a Candle to Light You to Bed is also known as The House on Hound Hill, which is a terrible title, as is Witch Hill. But I thought both of these books were very good, and though I have nothing interesting to add, I just wanted to proclaim that Maggie Prince is on my "I will read anything by this author" radar now. :)
