ACOSAF was never my favorite either and it’s been a while since I’ve read it but I’m pretty sure there are a lot of things that happen that are pretty significant near the end of the book and I wouldn’t risk reading the rest of the series without it. Also there are a lot of funny comments and jokes that make the read worth it.
I retract my statement above as I have now finished the book....Although the beginning and middle of the book seemed somewhat to a slow start, those last few chapters..... It made it worth it. Keep pushing through.
I don't think it was worth it... I am almost done with the ACOSF and I think it could have ending at ACOWAR. And I have a theory that I came up with about Rhysand. Tamlin revived Rhys and if we look to his behaviors such as shielding obsessive behaviors it looks a lot like Tamlin... What if in the process he took some of his behaviors and that's why he is different. Although it's just my excuses for his being a strange prick I thought I would share lol.
It was kind of interesting to get different POV's, but I don't think you will miss anything if you skip it.
I think it's comparable to Tower of Dawn from the ToG series. It's not really necessary but important if you want to understand the story and the relationships between the characters...
