NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11227 comments I really enjoy this series so far, and I plan to read more. In this fantasy world, there is a species of human called Psy who have powerful and logical minds. For decades children have been trained to control or deny their emotions. Psy don’t have romantic or passionate relationships. This race has economic and political power, and many members have supernatural powers as well. Faith is an F-Psy who can forecast the future (usually for business reasons), and she is troubled by violent visions, including the death of her half sister by a serial killer. She becomes distrustful of the council , and seeks out a woman named Sascha Duncan, who recently left the Psy and has embraced a very different kind of life with a caring community of shifters. They decide to hide Faith from the Psy while working to stop a serial killer.

I really enjoy the characters in the shifter community, as well as the romance, passion and intrigue in the story. I love the sense of community, and the ethical dilemmas the women face. There is some gentle sex in the book, but not nearly as much as you surmise from the book covers. (The audio book covers make me cringe. The Farrah hair and 1970’s makeup doesn’t fit a futuristic book published in the 21st century.)
