Keeper of the Lost Cities question

I read this book a while ago and it was a ya book. The main character is boy who has one green eye and lives with his mom and grandpa because his dad is working in china. In the woods he and his Boy Scout group and friends can do magic and his green eye gives him special vision. There are witches and one calls him toogle because of his eye. Later in the series he travels back in time and meets his mom. He gets a curse put on her which caused him to have the green eye.
