Ellen | 3595 comments Gaspery-Jacques Roberts willingly volunteered to become a time traveler in order to investigate an anomaly that occurred in several different millennia. The year is now 2401 and Gaspery will need to travel to 1912, 2020 and 2203. The anomaly first appears to a young English man in western Canada as he is wandering through a forest. He suddenly hears violin music and a strange whooshing sound. Several centuries later a well-known author is on her book tour on Earth, her home being a Moon settlement, discussing the pandemic that was a fictional part of her book. She had also written about an elderly man who sat in an airship terminal playing his violin as a dense forest rose about him. Gaspery will visit the English man, the author and the violinist to find the truth of the anomaly. He has been warned beforehand that he must not interfere with what he knows is going to happen as he travels into the past. Gaspery is not sure his humanity will allow this.

This is Quantum Leap without Scott Bakula trying to set things right. For the most part I enjoyed the story but I can't say that I wasn't confused. It is interesting the way the characters interacted in such diverse ways throughout the centuries.
