Cassandra pushed her long curls back from her face and went over the papers again. Some of the students were a bit behind, including Scarlett, unfortunately. If she would just let Cass help her with her training more, instead of disappearing to the library so often, she could possibly be at the head of the class. She sighed, returning the papers to their folder, and putting it in her bag.
Someone knocked on the door to the office. Cassandra glanced up, then headed over to the door. She opened it to find a young teenage girl standing there, looking nervous. She smiled, hoping to encourage her. "Hello."

Cass always felt happy to know that a student wanted to work harder. Of course, she didn't want them to be too scared, but they also had to be prepared. It would give them a better chance of survival.
"Of course," she replied. "Did you want to have a session now, or set a time?"
She had been about to head home for the night, but this was why she had wanted this job to begin with. To help the students whenever she could. Maybe she could really make a difference in their lives. In how long their lives were.
If only Scarlett were like this. Not that she wanted her sister to change, but...
Focus on the student.

The girl seemed excited. Which sort of reminded Cass of herself when she had managed to get extra training sessions as a student. She hoped it would also mean that she would have a better chance at surviving her Call. Cass hated thinking about how all her students would be Called one day. How many of them likely wouldn't make it. But that was why she had wanted this job, so she could help.
"I'm Cassandra. You can call me Cass if you want," she said. "So, Quinn, we can do it now if you want. Was there anything in particular you wanted to work on?"

Cass leaned against the doorframe. "Well, the number one thing that will probably help with that would be running. I know that it might seem less exciting than, say fighting, but ideally, you don't want the Sidhe to catch you in the first place."
She had never met anyone who had actually fought the Sidhe and lived to tell about it. She had spent most of her own Call running. Sure, a part of her had wanted to fight them, but she had known better. Besides, the other part of her had wanted nothing more than to run, anyway. "If you want, you can warm up with a few laps, then maybe I could set up some hurdles for you. Being able to jump over obstacles could come in handy."
