That's too bad if some countries get overlooked but I guess some will be tougher than others. I didn't know any Slovakian authors or books, but from the bookshelf, I am drawn to the novella AWAY! AWAY! by Jana Beňová. It's short so perhaps there's a chance I fit it in... I see it in one of my library apps. The Hot Summer of 1968 by Viliam Klimáček also sounds interesting and I imagine I'd learn alot...
The problem is that the smaller the country gets the less translations into English are available (esp. if the country is from Eastern Europe), at least this is my experience so far. So members might have problems to get the titles.
I have just ordered Away! Away! but not sure when it will arrive. The description is definitely to my liking :))

Cool, maybe we will be able to have a little discussion on Away Away! I'll try to fit it, will keep you posted if I can.

Great! I ordered the title via amazon but they could not give me a delivery date, so there is no hurry with this title and I will also keep you posted when I know more...

I read this one in 3 days. It's so short but it didn't always feel like a quick read as it is a strange and unconventional style, very akin to poetry. But the tone is fun, pretty upbeat. I loved her humor, the protagonist, and the glimpses into a world very foreign to me. I didn't always understand it but I was ok with that.I'm excited to hear your thoughts!
I hope I won't have to wait too long for the copy and I am happy you liked it.
At the moment, I'm working my way through Chechov's plays - after The Seagull and Uncle Wanja I am in the middle of the Three Sisters :-)
