“Come home.” Vera’s mother called and Vera obeyed. In spite of their long estrangement, in spite of the memories -- she's come back to the home of a serial killer. Back to face the love she had for her father and the bodies he buried there.

Coming home is hard enough for Vera, and to make things worse, she and her mother aren’t alone. A parasitic artist has moved into the guest house out back, and is slowly stripping Vera’s childhood for spare parts. He insists that he isn’t the one leaving notes around the house in her father’s handwriting… but who else could it possibly be?

There are secrets yet undiscovered in the foundations of the notorious Crowder House. Vera must face them, and find out for herself just how deep the rot goes.

Vera is worrying. Daphne is so mean to her and the whole town hates her. Why? Do they think she helped her father? or didn't say what she knew so they blame her? it's a weird take, since it seemed like she was a kid when it all went down

eeew, the guy staying there is gross. I don't like the way he talks to her or the way he's kind of slimy and seems to act like he knows more than her

and wow, Daphne is especially awful.

I wonder what's really going on here and what her father did other than just "murders"? were they kids? women? (hide spoiler)]

I like that we're getting more backstory. I like that it's the dad and her so we know more

but what is wrong with her mom? what is she coughing from? yikes, that was gross

what her dad is doing is shocked but it's interesting how she's being desensitized to it just by her father rationalizing it.

and it was her mom the whole time?!?! I didn't see that twist coming!

James Duvall was gross - getting the house from the mom and then planning to exploit it just like the mom had done - even more so with his gross paintings and art from it

but how callously she killed him! Yikes!! lol this one was shocking and good! Good twists I didn't see coming! (hide spoiler)]
