How are we supposed to log writing prompts?

@steph no, ur totally fine. it TECHNICALLY starts October first but you can log books as early as september 30th.

@mary so, it's up to you, but how I like to do it is copy and paste the prompt, put it in parentheses, respond, and then at the end do (+9).

example:

(my fav character is edie because she's a journalist and she was really curious and i love any characters with investigative skills iykwim. i think i relate to her most for that reason that she's so eager to unravel a mystery and i also love how she accepts her fault that she might be too intruding and nosy as a journalist. Idk really, i just vibed with her. i also really liked tuck though, because he just wanted to mind his own business 😭 i feel bad for him because of his situation too (you'll know what i mean if you read the book). )

This book was good! I read it because of a friend's recommendation and it was, again, good! there were some typos (although maybe that was just the pdf I had) and the writing style felt choppy to me, but overall it would probably go on my re-read list if I needed a quick, snappy, fast-paced read. I would have finished this faster, but I was reading it on my phone so it was harder to do because my school has a no-phones policy. Overall, though, I liked it!

My least favourite thing has to be how the book made me so anxious. Like the fmc doesn’t follow her ritual and messes up and then becomes so paranoid and anxious about every little thing like for example someone knocks on the door, she thinks it’s cops or she she’s the cops and thinks she’s going to be arrested. Like at that point I was honestly considering not finishing the book. (+9)

My least favourite thing was the BLOODY ANNOYING CHARACTERS AGHHH (sorry i can't stop raging about them). the main character and one other side character were okay but the rest of them had absolutely no reason to be that rude to the mc, like i get she's poor and on a scholarship and they're rich but they could've had some basic human empathy. like one character hated her for no reason other than she's poor and the other character hated her because she was "making a move" on the guy she was obsessed with. i think overall that this horror book wasn't my cup of tea but i don't really know what to make of it because it wasn't bad, it was pretty good but idk.

(⚰️ who was your favorite character? Why?) Ollie! He's so wholesome (unlike Tadhg) and cute, and, like Mrs Kavanagh, I just wanna pick him up and give him a hug and hold the life out of himm. I wish we got more of him but all the moments we do get of him are gold and hopefully we get more in Joey's books! (+9)

(⚰️ what moment from the book would you most like to happen to you? Why?) Personally, I think when Johnny comes back from the senior tour and they're on the beach and Shannon sees him...oh how I would love to be Johnny AND Shannon in that moment. It's the cutest thing ever and so wholesome and dang it, I just want it to happen to ME. (+9)

(⚰️ what character would you most like to spend a rainy fall day with? Why?) Claire or Gibsie. Claire is the most likely to keep me entertained with things that I love to do, but Gibsie could make me crack a rib just from laughing, so he'd be a safe bet, too. Maybe Shannon too. She seems like the type of person to be down to just sit down and drink tea and read and maybe watch some Gilmore girls, and low-key that's what I need on a rainy day. (+9)

My favorite character in this book was probably Aristotle. He was my favorite because I saw a lot of myself in him and I really related to a lot of what he was saying, and how he feels like he can never fully be accepted by others in life because of his sexuality (living in a homophobic environment this really hit hard). I also really related to how he wanted to live life watching others and never really getting involved. Overall his character really just resonated with me and I really liked him.

⚰️what was your favorite quote from the book? Why? (+9)
“Sometimes I think that I’m nothing but a lot of emotions all tangled up in my body and I don’t know how to untangle them.” I relate to this quote so deeply it’s insane. It’s probably my favorite quote because I’m a very emotional person, and I have problems understanding and expressing everything I feel. Many days I truly do feel like I’m just a tangle of emotions lol

Def Ari’s mom, Liliana because she genuinely seems like the kindest person in the world. How she’s described in the books makes me literally love her, and I really wish I had her as a teacher. She also seems like she’d be reaaally good at carving pumpkins and it would be fun to spend time with her.

ughhh its hard to pick a fav character but i love marya or lev or sasha. I think marya the most because she's a genius and won't let anyone stand in her way and i mean she single handedly constructed the cleverest revenge plan ever. so she girlbosses in that domain. but she's also suffered a lot and made a lot of sacrifices putting her family first. i loved sasha too because she's similar to marya. they're all morally grey characters so i love that too.

again, i have SO many fav quotes. but a random one im picking is:

Then write me finding myself in your arms, if only for a night, and then write it again. Write it over and over, Lev, until we both know the pages by heart. Isn’t that a story, too?” she asked him softly.”

who wouldn't love a gorgeous quote like that? if someone ever said that to me i would die and my heart would explode. i'd write it down so i couldn't forget it. overall this book is not what i expected. i picked it up thinking "oh a romeo and juliet retelling about rival witches" and then i actually read the first chapter and fell in love.
this book is so good, i really recommend it!!

Logan because his inner thought on Jeanie honestly annoyed me so much. The way he wouldn’t talk with Jeanie out about him being scared that she’ll leave and when he does and she says she won’t he doesn’t believe her. Like I get it this man has abandonment issues but it still doesn’t give him the right to treat Jeanie like that!

⚰️what was your favourite thing about the book? (+9)
I loved the whole cosy vibes it give off and Gilmore girls vibes were to die for. The way they were getting the town ready for a festival and how Jeanie really dedicated herself to the whole coffee shop business and how she slowly got to know everyone and their order off my heart was honestly so cute!

⚰️what was your favourite quote and why? (+9)

"Sorry. They're earplugs. I thought they might help...uh..." Logan ran a hand down his beard, his cheeks above it pinkening, "... to help you sleep tonight. Before your big day."

The way he wanted to help her be able to sleep was honestly the sweetest thing Logan has done for Jeanie. He really went out of his way to get earplugs so that Jeanie would be able to sleep at her new place!!
