This interesting story of the life and death of a Douglas fir is lovingly illustrated in gouache, colored pencil, and Photoshop. It depicts the many plants and animals that depend on the tree for food and shelter, and how even when the tree falls to the ground, it is still an important part of the forest environment. Back matter includes a glossary and short bibliography.
