Is she positive about the number of children? The Lotterys Plus One and The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street are stories about big families, but not quite that many.

The Lotterys Plus One was the first book I thought of too! But she swears it was not that one.
I'm thinking it's The Swifts: A Dictionary of Scoundrels. I showed it to her today and she couldn't decide if that was it or not, so she took it home to look at it. It matches some stuff she said but not all of it.
If it's not any of these, she might also want to look at the Books that feature Large Families list.

The plot she described was a realistic fiction story about a family with 11 kids, who she thinks have names that are months or character traits (possibly the MC is named June?). They live in a huge house, and maybe one of the characters lives in the attic. There's an old woman who lives in a cottage at the end of the street. They throw a party for her. (Edit: Now she says the party actually wasn't for the old lady but for one of the kids. Dealing with some very vague memories here lol)
She also thinks there was a two page spread dedicated to introducing the characters, with illustrations of each character in a fancy frame.
I'm at a loss! She keeps coming back to give me more vague details and ask if I've found it. I told her I'd post here and ask her any follow-up questions. Any help is appreciated!
