**Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count only! If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis.**
Please note that a rating is now required in your completion posts! A small review is also welcome. 😊
I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though. I will use the team leader as a point of contact if needed.
Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.
PS - If you want to be known as anything other than Team 6, you are free to come up with a team name. 😉
LaurLa did not signup in the main thread. Since she is an experienced player, I am guessing that is GR changing the notifications not disinterest. If one of you could please message her, that would be appreciated. Thanks!

She's traveling this week, so it's a bit or miss. But she'll be back in time. And I posted where she's sure to see it.

Hi MKat... I've been on vacation so didn't see the notice when Berit got us signed up. I'm here! I also confirmed in the sign up thread!
Berit Talks Books wrote: "and girls by the end of this challenge I will probably be a grandma! 👵🏼"Congrats Berit!! Is this the first?
By the end of this challenge, our 5th will be here! In fact, I will be spending a few weeks on the other coast (South Georgia) during this challenge! (Please no more hurricanes!! Milton is going to miss them, but Helene was a direct hit.)
Berit Talks Books wrote: "yes my first!"Yay! Grandkids are always fun, but the first is especially fun. Enjoy!
Berit Talks Books wrote: "and girls by the end of this challenge I will probably be a grandma! 👵🏼"Congratulations!
Berit Talks Books wrote: "and girls by the end of this challenge I will probably be a grandma! 👵🏼"Woohoo - great news! Congrats!
Just a reminder that I will be travelling tomorrow when the first task is announced. Travelling as in on planes, in airports. I'll check on my phone if I can but if it's collaborative task, just decide without me... I'll find something to read, I'm sure. I've pretty much given up on my "yearly TBR" - which is just a guide anyway so whatever is needed is needed.
First Task - All Teams!Task 1 - 0. Read a book that is MPG Paranormal or a books that has both black and orange on the cover, teams decide.
October is wonderful in many ways - fall weather, football, pumpkin spice and especially Halloween! As a team decide whether you will read books that are MPG Paranormal or books with both black and orange on the cover, then each teammate reads a book that matches the team’s decision. To qualify as MPG (main page genre), on the main page of the book under the precis, there is a section that says "Genres". Anything listed under that section is counted as an MPG. You may use anything that shows when you click 'more', but not if you click 'show all'. For books to qualify under the cover color option, both black and orange need to be on the cover. The selected covers do not have to be primarily black and/or orange, but both colors must be present on the cover. You can use any edition’s cover to qualify your book. If in doubt, please ask.
Remember, the colors can be on any edition of your book, not just your edition. That being said, my vote is for Paranormal MPG.
i'd prefer a paranormal. Aunt Teresa just a FYI books need to be over 150 pages and fiction, no non-fiction.
I think Teresa did The Bachelor challenge, so she’s probably fine on all the reminders we’re posting.
I haven’t done the Bachelor challenge, but thanks for that reminder. I read that in the rules but of course I’m in so many challenges, I could see myself reading non-fiction and accidentally making a completion post here for it.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) wrote: "I am good with paranormal!"LaurLa is traveling today and told us to pick for the first task, so it looks like we're going with paranormal.
Is there a deadline? I know it’s a race but I don’t remember any particular check-in dates mentioned anywhere.
Whenever we all finish we get our next task. The last time I think we got through 17 tasks. Tasks have to be at least 2 days apart. So Monday is the soonest we can get another one.
HI all - okay. Back from vacation and trying to get all caught up. I didn't really finish anything while in Savannah and traveling home... just a graphic novel I needed to read for another challenge that I started during the down day for TW since it can't be used there or any of my other team challenges. I'm good with a paranormal too. Going with Cold Shadows... it's a list book for TW and has great page count (179 pp) and will cover a lot of other challenges - woohoo!

Please add the first edition Kindle page count (467). Thanks.
And because I won't wait for corrections until later in the challenge...Here is your next task!
Task 2 - 5. Read 4 books first published within the last year.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to have been initially published on or after October 15, 2023. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page use it. Otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format as the qualification. Please include the initial publication date of your selected book in your completion post.

Done. As soon as I saw this notification pop up I realized that I forgot, before I saw what you had written.
I am planning to read The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore for Turf Wars, so that works. I should have it done on Thursday. Tomorrow is my in person book club and I haven't finished the second book yet so that is a priority for tomorrow.
I'm going to read The Graham Effect which barely squeaks in under the year mark. I won't get it done until later in the week most likely.
