24 Classics for 2024 discussion

I'm not reading the books in order (because I joined in August) so I'm reading Anne of Green Gables just now. It's crazy how Anne reminds me of myselfs as a child with so many things she feels and says. It's like reading a book about something that never happened to me, still I'm the protagonist. I'm only 30% in so I don't know, how Anne develops over time, yet. Did you have the same experience while reading this book?

I mostly wished that Anne was MY friend growing up!
