I know we've talked about it before, but I can't find the thread(s).

Anyway, I saw this tweet today (goodreads won't let me link):

"I'm back in Mid-World...and the Territories. Don't know if it will develop into anything--I never know--but it's good to be back."

I like it! He's not on Holly anymore. Unless he's turning Talisman 3 into a new Holly book.

I've always, always hoped he would revisit the territories. I'd prefer he do so with another child as opposed to the adult Jack in Black House, but I like the setting so much that I'll take what I can get!

Definitely curious as to where a third book in the series could go!

In “You Like it Darker” there was a definite theme of young man, Middle Aged man, old man throughout. Books 1 and 2 of the territories have young man, middle aged man, so my guess would be something with old man Jack. But King can definitely have the ability to surprise at times so who knows really 🤷‍♂️.

I hope not, just because I feel like we just got that with “Fairy Tale.”

Bad news. He's going to wrap up Talisman/Dark Tower with The Talisman 3, with a 57-year-old Jack Sawyer. I believe he's finished this one, so it's possible we'll see it next year. We'll know more when we know more.

He's also going to wrap up Holly with a final one of those. For that one, he's rereading THE OUTSIDER.

After those, he plans to take a break.

As I said, as long these are two books. I can mentally withstand the onslaught of one last Holly book. At least I think I can. I don't know.

Maybe he will give Holly a cosmic destiny: Co-vid is a thing on all worlds now, but the Cromson King is vaxed, boosted and wears his mask faithfully. Holly manages to steal his mask and blows the Horn of Eld (which turns out to be an instrument created by the virology lab in Wuhan) in his face, emitting a cloud of 99.44% pure covid. Without his mask and in spite of being vaxxed and boosted, The Crimson King dies a horrible death unwitting of such spectacular evil. Of course, Holly dies also, giving her the heroic status King desperately wants for her.

That would make making it through all the other Holly books worthwhile!
