Herman Diaz | 120 comments I'll probably read it at some point, but I'm a bit iffy about the reverse chronological format & lack of illustrations.

Jessica | 179 comments I read this over a year ago and I don't remember a whole lot of it. I will link my review which indicates I had some fond feelings for the writing at the time, mixed with occasional boredom.

Herman is correct about the lack of illustrations. I spent a lot of time googling things to try to get my bearings with a picture.

bup | 21 comments Just finished it. LOVED IT! Great recommendation, so thank you, group!

"Visiting" various periods in our planet's history was fascinating, but that kid can write, too! His word choices were so...evocative. Great words that aren't overused, that kept me engaged and helped me visualize scenes so well.

Melissa | 7 comments I am really enjoying the book too. I love how much he includes insects and plants - things I don't hear much about with similar books.
