Just thought I'd mention my favorite hobby, translating Jack Vance into Esperanto. Only with full permission, of course. I made a somewhat informal arrangement with the maestro himself back in the 90's, renewing same while on a weekend visit to his home in Oakland in 2000 while volunteering for the VIE project. And since the literary world's tragic loss in 2013, his son John has very kindly re-affirmed that I may continue my effort.
It's an all-volunteer project. No one is paid. I translate each story myself, re-typing manually line-by-line. Then others proof-read it. The first of these I credit as co-translator for all their efforts. For most, I also have illustrations. Many are by Paul Rhoads, one-time Editor in Chief of the VIE Team.
And when all is done, I put the ebooks on-line for free. Find them here: http://esperanto.us
