BooksNCrannies (booksncranniesofficial) | 557 comments I've had this book checked out of the library since August. Now I'll have to read it. 😀

I've been really looking forward to another novel by Ruta Sepetys.

Elisabeth (Bets) (livingforjesus) | 1209 comments Has anyone started this yet?

I have another book to finish reading and then I’m planning on starting this one!

message 5: by BooksNCrannies, Co-creator/Head Mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

BooksNCrannies (booksncranniesofficial) | 557 comments I'm gonna try to finish The Scorpio Races before I start this one. So probably in a week and a half I'll start it.

✧Bella✧ | 1121 comments Hope you all enjoy. This wasn't my fav Sepetys book, but I did really like it. It just wasn't as high as I Must Betray You or Salt to the Sea for me.

Elisabeth (Bets) (livingforjesus) | 1209 comments That’s what Sharon told me too.

message 8: by BooksNCrannies, Co-creator/Head Mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

BooksNCrannies (booksncranniesofficial) | 557 comments Wasn't this one of Ruta Sepetys's first books? Maybe that's why it isn't as good as her other ones.

✧Bella✧ | 1121 comments Yeah, I did like it better than The Fountains of Silence tho. And I haven't read Out of the Easy, but the reason I haven't yet is because I'm pretty sure I won't care for it as much.

Have you read Salt to the Sea or I Must Betray You? because if not, you HAVE to.

Yeah, it was her debut.

message 11: by BooksNCrannies, Co-creator/Head Mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

BooksNCrannies (booksncranniesofficial) | 557 comments Yeah, I have read both of those books by her and I really enjoyed them, especially I Must Betray You.

✧Bella✧ | 1121 comments Yeah, I Must betray You is really good. It might be my fav of hers... but I'm not sure, I loved Salt to the Sea too.

message 13: by Elisabeth (Bets), Creator/Head Mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

Elisabeth (Bets) (livingforjesus) | 1209 comments I've read Salt to the Sea but not I Must Betray You.

message 14: by BooksNCrannies, Co-creator/Head Mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

BooksNCrannies (booksncranniesofficial) | 557 comments Ahh!!! You need to read I Must Betray You!! It is so good! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

I'm thinking if I can make time I might reread again soon. We'll see.

✧Bella✧ | 1121 comments Yes, you need to read it!

message 16: by Elisabeth (Bets), Creator/Head Mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

Elisabeth (Bets) (livingforjesus) | 1209 comments I started this earlier this morning and got a quarter of the way through. So far it’s good!

Hopefully I can start it next week!

Langston (on hiatus for the forseeable future) I’ve read this one and The Salt to the Sea, I want to read I Must Betray You. I’ve heard it’s amazing.

message 19: by Elisabeth (Bets), Creator/Head Mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

Elisabeth (Bets) (livingforjesus) | 1209 comments I also wanna read I Must Betray You.

I've read Salt to the Sea, Fountains of Silence, and now I'm reading this one.

message 20: by Elisabeth (Bets), Creator/Head Mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

Elisabeth (Bets) (livingforjesus) | 1209 comments Finished this last night. It was so sweet once you got further in, I liked the bit of romance.

I did only rate it 3 stars and that’s due to the fact that I almost DNFed at 20% because the gory descriptions were almost too much for my weak stomach to handle. I’m glad I kept going tho cause that part got better, kinda. lol.

And the suggestive sexual comments were a lot. I realize it was realistic but that’s another thing I didn’t love about it.

I will say 10/10 for capturing the horrors of WW2. I never heard about this particular “story” before so it was nice to see another side of WW2.

✧Bella✧ | 1121 comments Yes, I love how Ruta Sepetys' books always cover lesser-known aspects of history.

message 22: by Elisabeth (Bets), Creator/Head Mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

Elisabeth (Bets) (livingforjesus) | 1209 comments Yeah I like that. It’s more than just “one more story”. It’s a completely different story.

message 23: by BooksNCrannies, Co-creator/Head Mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

BooksNCrannies (booksncranniesofficial) | 557 comments I just started this book a few hours ago.

message 24: by BooksNCrannies, Co-creator/Head Mod (new) - rated it 3 stars

BooksNCrannies (booksncranniesofficial) | 557 comments I finished this book last night. It certainly was a more brutal read... I'll prob have a review out in a few days.
