hi! I’m new to this whole sort of thing and I’m a little confused hehe, can someone give a brief summary of how this works and like the purpose of this group? it’s seems very fun so i’m excited to learn about it💖

there’s different common rooms where you will log points, which you can get by reading botms and other prompts which should be linked on the home page.

the winning common room each month will get to choose one of the botms for the next month.

it’s just supposed to be fun and interactive and a place to just chat about the botms and any other books you like, or even other hobbies you want to share about. really anything you want.

i’m currently working on making new channels, i’m just getting everything situated right now and working some things out. glad you’re here:)

I just have one more question:) it says in the point system “author or botm “, does that mean that you get points if you read any other book of one of the authors of the monthly books? because I just finished never lie by Frieda McFadden and I’m wondering if I should log it? And LAST THING SORRY, how and where do I log that then?

yes author of botm counts for any book that a botm author has written. and you’ll log that into your common room. if you haven’t been sorted then you need to take the group sorting quiz and i will sort you accordingly:)

Hi! I was wondering how this group works and how does the challenges work? How do we log points and what are they for? Thanks!

you first take the sorting quiz, and then you log points for each book you read or bonus challenge you participate in! the next sorting will be on december 31st, right at the start of the january challenge so if you take the quiz you’ll start logging points starting on january 1st! the points are added to your group total, and the winning group will get to pick one of the BOTMS. you’ll also have a common room where you can log these points or just talk in general after being sorted:)

in the meantime you can still participate in all the channels, you just won’t be able to be sorted yet!! there’s lots of different things to do

I'm so sorry. I took the quiz awhile ago. I still don't know where to log points or how. I'm very new to anything like this.

I don't know how to find my common room either.

you are in the alchemist common room, and you can log points using any one of the prompts under the december challenge (can be found under the topic BOTM INFO) for each book you read!! there are also bonus challenges you can do for points as well:) all are discussion topics that are in this group.

also sotm and botm recommendations for next month are open as well, so if you want to vote for books/songs rhat will be highlighted next month you can do that as well:)

Hiiii I just have a few quick questions I thought I’d ask before the January BOTMs are picked:
1. When it says you can only choose one prompt for each book you read, does that just mean you can’t log points for more than one prompt if a book qualifies for more than one or does it mean that you can only read and log points for one book per prompt (like you can use each prompt once or something) or does it mean both?
2. Sry idk if I’m just being stupid but when it says “ONLY you read a BOTM before January” what does that mean? I’m just confused for some reason 😅😅😅
3. When it says “listened to a podcast” does it mean you listened to a whole podcast or just an episode?
4. In tracking bonus challenge points, do we just type in the prompt and the points, disregarding the book (this is in regards to the template you gave)

Sry, some of these questions may seem a bit redundant but I always like to ask a bunnccchhhhhh of questions to make sure I know everything and I dont mess something up, and ig it’s better to ask them all now rather than asking them one at a time 🤷🏼‍♀️

1. you can use each prompt as many times as you want, you just can only choose one prompt for each book!
2. if you’ve read a botm BEFORE january (so when the botm vote ends and we have our botms) then you can choose whatever book you want and have it count as “botm replacement” for the same amount of points as a botm would be. for example, last month i had already read the dead romantics, so instead of reading that i read a different book and it counted for the same amount of points. but you can only use this for as many of the botms that you’ve already read. so if you’ve read 2/4 botms already then you can only use botm replacement on 2 books. hope this makes sense!!
3. podcast is every episode!
4. bonus challenge just disregard the book part of the log!!

yes! however you want to do it is totally fine!

heyyy so what are the most genres read in here? i’m asking since i don‘t like fantasy or sci-fi at all and the most groups are only reading that

i feel like we mix it up quite a lot, our previous botm have been many different ones! romance, thriller, fantasy, graphic novel, dystopian and mystery are some genres we’ve had so far! with all the members of the group have a say in what the botms for each notch are gonna be! so you can vote for the books that you like!💝 hope this helped!

yes! everyone gets to vote for the books we read each month so we can have input from everyone:) and there’s a section where you can make your own channels and talk about whatever interests you have so you can find people with similar ones!

if i listen to the same podcasts and keep up with them, can i log all of them each month or can i only log a podcast one time? because i listen to them a lot but idk if it’s cheating logging them again for each months challenge ? 🫶💗

hi, how do i know in what common room i am?

if you’ve taken the sorting quiz then i send out results every monday. i haven’t yet today, but i will be later on tonight. so if you haven’t taken it yet, just take it today. if you’ve taken the quiz before this past week, then your name should already be sorted and will be under announcements. lmk if this helps:)
