I just finished the book it was good. I have to say it wasn’t like The Boyfriend or The Teacher which were not great. I’m still a fan and look forward to reading more from Freida MCFADDEN
I love Frieda Macfadden, but I have to say, this was my least favorite of hers. Much slower than I would have liked. Ended up having to skip some paragraphs just to get through. I think the “ snow storm so can’t leave “ bit is overdone. Still love Frieda and will continue to read all her books!
I was hooked from the start, great twist and a major page turner…… until the end. When getting close to the end and situations were aligning for the ending, it felt too fast and too much of a warm and fuzzy ending. I still really did enjoy the read and would recommend to all but for me, the ending could have been better.
I really did not enjoy this book. It would have been a DNF except for this group. And the ending! No I did not care for this book; it seems she is putting them out to fast -or better yet, not my cup of tea. That’s why there are so many styles, many good choices. Enjoy your journey.
This is why I love group discussions. Different strokes for different folks. My daughter loves Freida's books but I only read them so I can discuss them with her - don't like them at all.
I enjoyed the book although the timeline was slow at times. I found it to be a compelling mystery and the plot twists were at times unbelievable. I like that she used the characters perspectives to tell their perception, which gave depth to the story and characters.
I’m nearly half way through this book and am tempted to not finish. A bit too “Misery” like for me. I want to like it but it’s not really floating my boat, even though I usually enjoy Freida’s books
Ruth wrote: "I agree Dawn. Some of it was extraordinarily hard to believe happening, but I always think “it is fiction” and go with it. I think 99% of fiction has unbelievable parts. Haha."yes very true about fiction Ruth. overall i enjoyed the book. I like Freida Mcfadden’s twists. It is what makes her books compelling.

Summary
The nightmare she’s running from is nothing compared to where she’s headed.
Tegan is eight months pregnant, alone, and desperately wants to put her crumbling life in the rearview mirror. So she hits the road, planning to stay with her brother until she can figure out her next move. But she doesn’t realize she’s heading straight into a blizzard.
She never arrives at her destination.
Stranded in rural Maine with a dead car and broken ankle, Tegan worries she’s made a terrible mistake. Then a miracle she is rescued by a couple who offers her a room in their warm cabin until the snow clears.
But something isn’t right. Tegan believed she was waiting out the storm, but as time ticks by, she comes to realize she is in grave danger. This safe haven isn’t what she thought it was, and staying here may have been her most deadly mistake yet.
And now she must do whatever it takes to save herself—and her unborn child.
