Hope everyone has been doing well!
If you're still in school and you're in the home stretch before break, YOU CAN DO IT!! If you're working right now, remember that you should also be taking time for yourself too!
One of the biggest things that I'm seeing on social media is almost a collective reading slump. And I've been guilty of feeling like a failure because I wasn't reading as much as I was back in summer, but just remember... reading is FUN. It's a hobby that we do to escape reality, have a good laugh, connect with characters, and just have a good time. You are not obligated to read, and you don't have to hold yourself to a huge standard because you think you need to prove yourself! Read at your own pace, and read because it makes you feel good, not because you feel like you have something to prove. This can also be applied to how you're feeling day to day. Seasonal depression, and depression in general, is a REAL THING. It is okay to struggle, just know that it always gets better. The only way is up!
Just a few reminders:
1. I will be sorting anyone who took the sorting quiz in December on the 15th! Stay tuned.
2. If you're sorted, but you're in a reading slump, you can still make points for your house in many different ways! Check out the bonus challenges:)
3. If you're sorted and you're a reading machine in the winter, check out the December challenge and log your points in your common rooms!
4. Have fun, take care of yourselves, and know that you're loved!

It's so crazy to me that we already met our member goal for December and we have active participants in this group. I seriously appreciate you all so so much!
I just wanted to send out a general announcement. For group leaders, I will be trying to update the leaderboard on the 15th, so just have points sent in by then! Along with updating the leaderboard I will be sorting anyone who has taken the sorting quiz this month, so if you haven't go do that so you will be able to start logging your points!

Just a few housekeeping things seeing as December is almost coming to a close!
If you celebrated Christmas I hope it was absolutely amazing for you, but I also know that Christmas isn't sunshine and rainbows for everyone so if it was kinda sucky I'm so sorry and I totally understand. Holidays and family gatherings can be stressful but hey... you got through it!
I would also like to say with the end of the year comes a new year and a new month! Good luck with finishing up any reading/personal goals, and with any future goals you're setting for yourself! You can do it.
This also means that the December reading challenge is almost over, last day to log points will be December 31st, and I will also be announcing the next set of house sorting results if you've taken the quiz recently! You also still have a chance to take the sorting quiz before December 31st so you'll be sorted before January starts!
Along with this, we are going to need to select BOTMs and SOTMs for January! So go put your votes in botm and sotm recommendations so we I can compile a list for the poll. You have until December 30th to do so.
Lastly, if you have any friends you'd like to invite, please feel free! I want this to be a welcoming and feel-good community here on goodreads:)

Because there are quite a few people in this group now I'm going to send out announcements in this channel rather than sending out a message daily (sorry if that bothered anyone). I just wanted to make sure that everyone got all the information they needed while the group was still small. I will use the broadcast messages when I send out house sorting results, update the leaderboard, or if there's any important information regarding an upcoming challenge, botm/sotm voting, or the start of a new month!

Other housekeeping things... I know I have not been as active, that is because I'm super busy at this time of the year. I am on a college softball team and we're getting into our season and travelling a lot on top of my school work. That being said, I will be switching how I do everything starting in March. I will do a weekly broadcast/announcement with house sorting results and general updates just to make sure everyone knows how the group works and is set up. If you have any questions, PLEASE PLEASE reach out. This group has already grown so much and I love seeing everyone interact and share awesome book recommendations. I am currently working on a little "roadmap" for the group which basically will just show how our group works and what everything is. Especially for all of you on goodreads mobile who don't have access to everything that desktop users do so that it will be easier for you guys to access everything. Thanks so much for your patience and for creating this little community as I grow this group:)) It's so cool to see.

I'm super sorry that I haven't been active. Life has been kicking my ass lately and I have also been sick.
That being said, everything for next months reading challenge has been pushed back, meaning that we will start the April reading challenge on April 3rd so that we have time to get the botm votes and the reading challenge totals. So you still have until April 2nd to get all of your March reads logged into your common rooms.
This also means that botm and sotm recommendations are open for your votes! Please have them in by April 1st!
Again, so sorry I haven't been active. If you're new please look into the group info and I will start with the weekly sorting and updates in this upcoming month.

Along with all of that fun stuff, you may have noticed that I added new little mini games for extra points. We currently have an FMC bracket going on that is similar to March Madness and every round there will be an option to guess the winners for points, but the winners are totally determined by your votes when I send out the polls. So please go check that out. Along with that, we are having a book review challenge. This means that if you have a review that you've written this month that you want to submit, please send them in and we will vote on them at the end of the month if we have enough entries. This competition will start over each month. There is also an emoji guessing game that you can also earn points from that I update and frequently as possible, but it's usually a daily thing if possible:)

Starting this next month I'm only going to send out sorting results weekly if we need it, but since we haven't had a steady increase in members there hasn't been a need for it. I will try to just send individual messages to the people who have taken the quiz letting them know where they've been sorted. If we do start to get an increase in members, this will change back to the weekly/twice a month sorting with a set schedule, but until then I will just play it by ear.
