Hi Dave, that's wonderful! I don't know what to ask first so I'll ask both and leave it to you!
1) What are some of the most beautiful places you have seen this past year in southeast Asia? What place would you recommend to someone who is more traditionally bound to having to pick only one area for a vacation?
2) question about books of course! According to your personal preferences, what book do you recommend that better represent the qualities you listed?

For question 2 I’ll say one of my favorite series was the Nevernight Chronicles. Couldn’t put it down. Also almost anything by Joe Abercrombie for pure grimdark goodness.
For SE Asia that’s a tough question. Most love Thailand so it’s always a good place to start. I loved the northern city of Chiang Mai but for a shorter vacation maybe hit Bangkok and then the southern islands. Depends on what you like.
But my favorites were surprising. I loved Laos and Cambodia. Look up Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng in Laos and Siem Reap in Cambodia. The Cambodia people are so nice, friendly, and have a great sense of humor too!
All are worth the long flight :)
Ah, I'll look up your recommendations of Laos and Cambodia, I was looking for your specific hidden gems recommendations as opposed to the usual destinations :)
For the books, I've read the first blade trilogy. I liked it well enough up till the ending, that I'll admit left me a bit bitter. I'll check out the Nevernight Chronicles, thank you :)

Wow, Dave, that sounds amazing! I have so many questions… What made you start traveling? How do you decide on your next destination? Do you take photos? I love photography! Do you have a blog or social media account where you share your photos? Do you keep a travel journal or blog, or do you just enjoy the journey without structure?
What do you do with the books you’ve already read while traveling—do you gift them, send them home, or something else? (Just a practical question—I love traveling light!) Do you meditate, or do you just go with the flow?
What’s the last book you read? Sorry if I’m asking too much—just answer whatever you feel like or have time for! :) Wishing you safe travels!"

Good job Dave, and welcome here.
I've been all over the US, most recently Hawaii, and I think I have been to every state but Alaska, but...I've not been much out of it...
My sister and her husband live on a boat and have traveled much of the world though. I don't think they've gone across the Pacific, but certainly the Atlantic.

I’m currently a full time traveler making my way around the world while indulging my hobby of reading fantasy books. I love grimdark, unique magic systems, sword and sorcery, etc.
Just finished a year in Southeast Asia and now working my way down Latin America, currently in Mexico.
I also just hit my reading goal of 16 books this year and might hit 19 in all.
Gracias and adios!
Dave
