Readers of Underappreciated Books discussion

Hello and welcome! Use this space to share a little about yourself. I started this group because I enjoy books that aren't chart-toppers. I also love singing the praises of lesser-known authors and their books. That doesn't mean that I don't read the books that everyone's raving about. I just tend to put them off until much later in my TBR pile.

I live in Ohio with my husband and four spoiled cats. I spend my days as an operations manager for a very small commercial real estate company. I love my work! But there are many days when I'd rather just be at home with a good book in my hand and a warm cat to snuggle up with.

Thanks so much for inviting me to join this group, Theresa! I’m Nora. I live in the Midwest of the United States. I too value under appreciated books as well.

Thank you for the invitation to the group, and what a great idea for a group it is! There are so many great books out there that go largely unnoticed, while many (imo) mediocre books steal the spotlight because they are deemed trendy on social media.

I live in the northeast US with my family (including 2 dogs and 2 cats), and mostly read horror. I also like literary fiction with darker themes.

I live in South Africa. So I don't always have the greatest access to more obscure titles. But I always take a note of recs in case any of them come my way.

Hello, everyone! Louie is my name, and I pretty much read everything I can find except romance. I live in Puerto Rico where I have a difficult time finding new books. I have a substantial library though. Fortunately, my parents loved books. Thanks for the invite, Theresa.

Thank you for the invite, Theresa! I'm Jessi and I love finding new books to read. I'm a huge fan of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy.

I look forward to seeing what everyone has to suggest. I have never been a fan of over-hyped books on BookTok or Bookstagram. Each time I read a "highly recommended" book I end up coming away feeling let down.
