Co-director Christopher Miller announced that filming had wrapped on Project Hail Mary. The sci-fi movie based on the book by Andy Weir has a release date set for March 20, 2026.

Set in the near future, it centers on junior high (middle) school-teacher-turned-astronaut Ryland Grace, who wakes up from a coma afflicted with amnesia. He gradually remembers that he was sent to the Tau Ceti solar system, 12 light-years from Earth, to find a means of reversing a solar dimming event that could cause the extinction of humanity.

Trivia ~~
Andy Weir shot down the notion that he stole from the Jaroslav Kalfar novel Spaceman from Bohemia, which was adapted into Spaceman (2024).

Looks like this will be on Prime.
I haven't been able to reserve an audio version of the book and now I see why--it's only available on Audible. That may have happened once Amazon purchased the film rights. Will try to remember to get it with one of my Audible credits.

Luckily it is over a year before the movie comes out. And may be even longer before it hits streaming, unless Amazon puts it right to Prime. I jotted this one down to read sometime mid 2025, giving me time to forget most of it before the movie hits. Which is how I like to transition from book to adaptation.
