I used to work as a technical writer. One of the engineers on my team would joke that the first step of any procedure I wrote should be “Remove the instructions from the trash can.” Because reading instructions is a pain, and people often don’t do it unless they have to.
Even though the authors in the Jane Austen’s Birthday book fair were told to set their books to 0.00, I should have realized that some of them might not follow directions. Instead of scheduling my newsletter to go out to you first thing this morning US-time, I should have checked the prices first. I didn’t do that. That’s on me, and I apologize.
I’ve emailed the other authors and asked them to please set their books to 0.00 for the remainder of the book fair. I can’t promise they will. My best suggestion is to check tomorrow to see if any more of the prices have dropped. For now, the following books are available at no cost:
