The Lady Most Willing... (Lady Most..., #2) by Julia Quinn by Julia Quinn, Eloisa James, Connie Brockway

THE LADY MOST WILLING

Step into the glittering world of Regency and prepare to have your hearts warmed by Julia Quinn, Eloisa James and Connie Brockway . . .

During their annual Christmas pilgrimage to Scotland to visit their aged uncle in his decrepit castle, the Comte de Rocheforte and his cousin, Earl of Oakley, are presented with unique gifts: their uncle has raided an English lord's Christmas party and kidnapped four lovely would-be brides for his heirs to choose from . . . as well as one very angry duke, Lord Bretton.

As snow isolates the castle, and as hours grow into days, the most honourable intentions give away to temptations as surprising as they are irresistible.

Lauren | 1450 comments I'm starting this book tomorrow. I'm not a fan of Christmas theme stories, but this one looks interesting

Lauren | 1450 comments I'm on chapter 4, and there hasn't been anything Christmasie yet. The Duke is in Scotland for Christmas, but that's it so far. hmm

Lauren | 1450 comments I finished the book. I'm sorry, everybody, but the story had no Christmas theme. This book was under goodreads Christmas list. I'm sorry I nominated it :(

Merry (jewelhound) | 867 comments Lauren don't feel bad. I have nominated books that I have not read, and the theme was off the mark. We don't know that since we have NOT read it lol. Look at this book After Dark with the Duke (The Palace of Rogues, #4) by Julie Anne Long Looks like it should be but not.

No worries, Lauren. Was it any good? I was just about to join you in reading it . . .

Oh dear. Unlucky, but it happens. It was set in December. but if you haven't read it you weren't to know..... Well, we will just have to go off and enjoy whichever Christmas reads we want to anyway. LOL.

No problem, Lauren! But it's weird, no? A Christmas party is mentioned in the blurb. Pretty misleading!

message 9: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1450 comments Irina, I don't know why the Christmas party was mentioned in the blurb because the women were already kidnapped from that party when introduced. It was very misleading!

Lauren | 1450 comments Merry and Jan, thank you for being understanding. I also would have assumed that JAL book was a Chritmas' theme, too

message 11: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 1450 comments Olivia, it was cute. The story centers around three couples finding love. I liked the different romance storylines in the plot. Still, this is not a JQ book I'll remember later

Xee (xeey) | 23 comments While the actual christmas was missing, i did thoroughly enjoy the book. It was cute, funny, not to be taken seriously use of a few hours and sometimes that's all one needs. it def had the snowed in aspect down pat and now I wish I had saved it for my January prompt read of 2025.. alas...
I only wish Robin and Cecily had gotten more time coz who doesnt love a go-get-em-in-love heroine.

Also, that ending had me hollering (pre epilogue) though I knew what was coming.

Lauren | 1450 comments Xee, the ending was hilarious! I didn't see that coming.
