Hey! Sorry Tru! I meant to come back here yesterday - my notifications didn’t work 😕Go right ahead head and go first!!

Notifications can be so iffy! I knew you'd be around. :)
The other reason I'd like to go first is that I've got several half finished books and I'll (hopefully) use my task to figure out which to finish first.
The next Seasonal Reading Challege begins December 1st, midnight my time. The rules state that the only books that may be begun prior to the challenge start are those that are over 500 pages, and you may have only read to the halfway point.
Well, long books sounded good after Turf Wars, so I started a long one and stopped when I got halfway. And then another. And another. So I have three long books read to the halfway point and I've begun a fourth, lol. It's long odds that one will fit whatever my first task is, but you never know, right?
My goodness, Tru! I only have 10 books over 500 pages on my tbr right now that aren’t omnibuses or anthologies! My reading will probably be in the 300-450 pg range… although some of my catch-up books are shorter than that. I guess it’ll all depend on what fits 😁. 🤞🏻one of yours works!! lol
Well, it’s only a couple hours different… I’m reading a short book today so I’ll be able to get started first thing tomorrow 😁
Ashley wrote: "Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the order was randomized and Teresa goes first!"Whoops - I'm sorry, I guess I didn't look closely enough!
It's not a big deal, lol. I am just so ready to finish one of these books....
Teresa wrote: "I'm done Tru!!"Goodness, that was quick!
I rolled a 3 and got yellow spine. At first I was a bit bemused - as I read mostly e and audio books, I wasn't sure how to make this work. Happily, a book that just came up for me to borrow from Libby looked as though the spine would be yellow - and I found a piture showing that it is. Whew.
On the downside, this book is rather lyrical nonfiction, and may take me a few days to get read. I'll be as quick as I can!
I was in luck!! The audio I just started today has "freedom" in the text. It still may take another day or so to finish... but it is also the last book I need for KCR so I'll kill two birds with one stone, as they say :D
Oh glory - I got read a book with a character who time travels. I read SO MANY time travel books for TW......sigh.I'll see what I've got.
I didn't read any time travel for TW as none of them appealed, so I'd still be stuck with that task too...Have you read Paradox Lost? I really enjoyed it, although I read it 2017 so I might have a different opinion now...

That looks like fun!
I got lucky, though. One of the tasks for this round of the Seasonal Reading Challenge is a book with a 75%+ green cover per Tineye - which isn't easy to find. Happily, the edition of In the Garden of Iden I own has a very green cover and is MPG Time Travel. Having just read so much time travel I would have waited a bit longer to read it, but this will work out well.
I'm still working on my book of short stories for KCR - I jut can't bring myself to read a bunch of short stories in a row....
Yay for good luck!I hear you on short stories - I had to (temporarily) dnf an anthology because I just couldn't do the short story format....
Woo hoo! I hit an arrow up!! And my current ebook happens to be about a pixie unjustly accused of murder!!! (so many exclamation points!!!! 😄)I'd hoped my audio had courage, as it is an action type thing, but no... However one of my Christmas books does LOL, but I probably won't get to it for a day or so.
Why don't more of these MM guys wear watches??????Er....good morning, Teresa. So to rant before even saying hello. :)
I rolled a 2, which got me a ladder! For space 9, though, I need a watch or clock on the cover, I went though a search for this not all that long ago, and it was tough. Fortnately, I've got a short one where you can just see the guy's watch under his suit cuff.
Now it it had been guys with tattoos, I'd have been all set, lol.
My second book is secret in text, which I got covered with something I've already started. All this may take me a few days, though.
I hope you're doing well! Did you get hit by any of this crazy snow? We're clear down here, but we rarely get any.

Good morning! no worries on the rant LOL
Yay for ladders! If you need a clock, I enjoyed On the Clock - its BDSM but I enjoyed it and it's on KU. You don't need to read any of the others in the series but they are all interconnected. Or there's Clockwork Pirate not on KU though.
I'm doing ok. Getting ready for Christmas. We did get snow and rain yesterday but it froze overnight, so today the roads are extremely slick. Not as much snow as other places though!! We usually don't get a ton of snow in November and December and it usually melts with in a few weeks - often we have a "brown" Christmas. January, February and March however.... that's a different story!
How are you doing? How's your mom?

I was so sure I replied to your post yesterday, but I must have imagined it!
Mom had a rough week last week, but she's doing better. I have some recue kittens in the house, and we both enjoy that. I can't say I've done all that much about Christmas, though.
We only finally got chilly, recently. I can't say I expect snow at any point though - which is just as well, as ill-prepared as everyone here is for it. It's too bad with as cold as you get that you don't get white Christmases!
I went ahead and read Poker Face by Ava Drake (who is, apparently, also Cindy Dees.) I picked it up from some Dreamspinner Press deal ages ago, and never got around to reading it. It wasn't great, but I've read worse. I used a book I was already over halfway finished for my other book, so it didn't take as long as I feared.
And with that, I suppose I should mention that you're up!
Mother Nature must have been listening in on my thoughts, as she decided to prove me wrong... it kept snowing all day Monday and Tuesday and we now have several inches over the ice and -10C with wind chills of down to -17C 😬I hope this week is better for your mom. Kittens always help :D
I had a ARC come in that I need to read before I can get to my book for this so it'll be a few days.
Are you planning on team spell? I also saw the Challenge Factory has a partner challenge game called Lingo starting in January that looks interesting...I always say I want a challenge break but I can never help myself 😄
Teresa wrote: "Are you planning on team spell? I also saw the Challenge Factory has a partner challenge game called Lingo starting in January that looks interesting...I always say I want a challenge break but I..."
I really love Spell (it's where we met, after all!) but I feel pressured to read only MM and as fast as I can. I realize that this is self imposed, but I don't know if I can play without playing all out. You're playing, right?
I saw the listing about LINGO. It looks like fun, and was debating asking you about it. Should we? I don't think it's going to take us very long to finish this one.
I agree about Spell - even when I say I'm going to read less, I can't help myself. I think I'm going to skip this year...But, I'd love to do LINGO with you! I agree, we are skipping right along with this challenge LOL.
Woohoo! I got lucky. My current book, which I should finish some time tomorrow, works perfectly for my space/task.And, yes - sign us up, please!
Ok... While the task I got isn't difficult, none of the books I need to read this month fit LOLI need to finish up what I'm currently reading and then I'll pick which I go with after.
Teresa wrote: "Alright! Done!! You're up, Tru"This one may take me a minute. I've got a question in to the Q&A thread.....
Things are going pretty well - it's a busy time of year. Mom is doing reasonably well and I have my rescue kittens for entertainment. :)How about you?
I can imagine you’re busy being in retail! I’m glad your mom is doing ok for the moment. Enjoy those kitties! I wish it was easier to share pictures on here. I’d love to see them. I’m doing well enough. Weather is sketchy - Mother Nature can’t decide if it’s winter or spring and it’s giving me a literal headache 🤕 , but My sister and fam are coming down next week for Christmas so I’m looking forward to that. We got some cookies made, I’ve got presents wrapped, and dinner all planned.

It sounds as though you're prepared!
The weather hasn't figured out what it's doing here, either. We hit the low 70's (F, of course) yesterday, and made it to 69 today. By Sunday, the high is supposed to be 49 - which I'm not sure I believe, lol.
I'll see what I can do about pictures - I don't take as many as I should.
I could use your help finding a book for another challenge. I'm looking for an MM author with one of the following first names: Dan, Daniel, Heather, Kristin, Jenni, Katy, Adam.
The book needs to be single author. Any suggestions?
There’s Daniel A Kane’s Slasherazzi (I haven’t read but heard good things) or Daniel de Lorne; - I’d suggest Adam Vex’s SOS Hotel but the listing has two authors - technically it is only one author (Ariana Nash writing as Adam Vex) so it might still count?
Slasherazzi looks good, but I can't easily get my hands on it! I'm not so sure about Daniel de Lorne's books. I might be able to get the ok for Ariana / Adam - I'll see.I've got several nonfiction books that would work, but I'm not really up for any of them. Who knew this would be so hard? I may just break down and read something I'm not thrilled about, lol.
Thanks for the suggestions!
And woohoo! Ashley just approved my current audiobook/ebook for my task. I doubt I'll finish it tomorrow, but certainly by end of day Friday.
You're up, Teresa!I finished my book earlier than expected. I really thought it was going to take longer. :)
