I hope my llibrary can get more of this book series in . I've seen the anime and the trailer and now I want to get into the manga too
I watched this series when it first arrived on Netflix and I credit(blame?) this for restarting my interest in manga and anime. I had gotten a taste for it in my early 20's but had moved away for a bit. Now I am back with a vengeance and my very own account on Crunchyroll. I watched the first season then I started hunting for the anime and I am reading my way through that series. I am interested in other comedy theme yakuza titles and shows as well!
Any suggestions from something you have enjoyed?
Try Nisekoi: False Love, Vol. 1. It is a romantic comedy involving not only two rival gangs but also the police.Back Street Girls: Gokudols is an anime on Netflix about how failed gangsters are forced into sex changes so their boss can have his own idol group.
I read the 1st volume of Hinamatsuri which was pretty strange but I believe one of the main characters is Yakuza.
Not Yakuza but gang related I should point out the Baccano!, Vol. 1 (manga) series has a mix of serious and comedic elements but can be a little confusing with its back and forth story spanning many years.

Synopsis
Tatsu, an infamous and feared yakuza boss nicknamed "the Immortal Dragon", retires from crime to become a househusband so that he can support his wife Miku. The series depicts a variety of comedic scenarios, typically where Tatsu's banal domestic work as a househusband is juxtaposed against his intimidating personality and appearance, and his frequent run-ins with former yakuza associates and rivals.
