Where you put your ideas for what we should read next.

message 2: by Beth (new)

Beth (beth_shulman) | 1 comments I want everyone to read Ten Girls to Watch, which I know some of you have, because Katie rec'ed it to me? BUT IT'S SO GREAT.

Or maybe a Frances Hardinge, for the weirdness. And awesomeness.

Danielle H (sootyink) | 7 comments Since I'm already reading it, The Royal We is pretty amazing. I decided to not just goof off online in favor of reading. Like, insert the gif of Andy Samberg portraying Nicholas Cage saying THAT'S HIGH PRAISE because when it comes to me, it is. I think it would probably be really fun to discuss.

I just updated for our May book, so if you've got ideas that you want put to a vote this month, this is where they go!

Because a bunch of us will be reading it anyway and it releases June 2--Suddenly One Summer by Julie James.

message 6: by Katie (new)

Katie (katayla) | 41 comments YES, let's do it.

But also I will nominate All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill.

message 7: by Alix (new)

Alix | 12 comments Third-ing reading Suddenly One Summer in June!

message 8: by Alix (new)

Alix | 12 comments It is!

message 9: by Andree (new)

Andree | 10 comments Question, does that mean that it's in a series?

message 10: by Katie (new)

Katie (katayla) | 41 comments Yes, the Julie James FBI/US attorney one. I think you've read it?

message 11: by Andree (new)

Andree | 10 comments Not all of them, I don't think, so I may sit that one out if I don't catch up (I'm somewhat obsessive about reading series in order).

message 12: by Katie (new)

Katie (katayla) | 41 comments Campaign for my book instead! YA time travel! Nice romance. Intense drama.

message 13: by Katie (new)

Katie (katayla) | 41 comments (Drama is not of the romantic variety.)

message 14: by Andree (new)

Andree | 10 comments Okay!
(I am not always opposed to romantic drama. Just when it is a kind of drama I don't like//wasn't expecting... Really, just if the drama is not specifically what I wanted for the book. I am unreasonable that way.)

It's a series, but it's not a series-series. They can all be read as stand-alones if you want to read them that way.

message 16: by Katie (new)

Katie (katayla) | 41 comments Ha, I think for me a lot of it is whether or not the drama makes SENSE or if it just feels like, "Oh no! Time for a romantic crisis!"

Because drama can be GREAT--it just usually feels too calculated.

message 17: by Andree (new)

Andree | 10 comments Yes, to be fair, that would definitely count as a kind of drama I don't like. Drama that works in the context of the story is better.

message 18: by Meg (new)

Meg (thewaltzingdead) Nomination for a future month - Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda. Fairly recent release (April 2015) with really great reviews. Mostly I just got the e-book from the library, so I'm nominating it.

message 19: by Katie (new)

Katie (katayla) | 41 comments Secret Society Girl! Okay, I knows we read it on LJ, but:

1. That was a long time ago.
2. It's still awesome.
3. I know I'm not the only one itching for a re-read.

message 20: by Cait (new)

Cait (epiccek) | 5 comments SECRET SOCIETY GIRL always and forever

message 21: by Sonja (new)

Sonja (sonni89) | 6 comments YES PLEASE re: Secret Society Girl.

message 22: by Alix (new)

Alix | 12 comments Honestly I'm super happy with either Suddenly One Summer or (re)reading Secret Society Girl! :)

We are definitely doing Julie James this month (I will put up the thread tonight), so SSG would be July if it is the crowd favorite.

message 24: by Alix (new)

Alix | 12 comments Oh sorry, misunderstood! I'm totally down for SSG for July.
